Hello wonderful people!
Quick update: I went to Costco and spent £3.49.... OH YES, you read correctly, I went to costco and spent only £3.49 (£161.22 left in the pot). I meant to buy one item (bagels) and that is all I bought. I feel so proud, may I pat myself on the back?
By the way, if it wasn't for the GC forcing me to think about what I buy, I would have spent considerably more so a big thank you to all of you!
PS cw18 you are unbelievably organised, I take my hat off to you and I hope one day I'll be able to budget as efficiently as you do!0 -

It's the end of week 2 for me - halfway through the month - so I'm updating again.
Didn't do as well this week as last - only 2 NSDs - but that's because I've had lots of fiddly little shops to do (you know - those things you can only get from one place - I bet we all have them).
Total spend so far is £220.31 - that includes using up a load of vouchers at Mr T this morning.
That leaves me with £59.69 for the next 2 weeks. I forgot to budget for DS2's birthday tea next weekend *naughty mummy*, which means I'll spend a bit more this week than originally planned, but DS1 is on a school trip the last week of the month, so there'll only be 4 of us to feed then, so things should even out in the end, I hope :rolleyes:DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

A huge pat on the back for you :A. I wish I could do that! I went to Sainsburys for wine and managed to spend a further £12.23 on stuff, most of which was planned. I also spent £32.38 in the butchers, expensive but worth it, planned freezer purchases.
Still no meal plan.

Spent more this week than intended as I was using up things in the freezer but got more now due to special offers so next weeks shop `should` be better, plus I got some extras for friends popping round
Anyway, still within budget as long as I plan well for next weekends shop and show some restraint!!
SamSep GC - £465/£400:rolleyes: Oct GC - £401/400Nov GC - £ 291.32/400

Another shopping trip to Sainsbury's and another voucher redeemed. The list came to less than the £40 I needed to use the £4 voucher, but I had a couple of things to pick up for a neighbour, and the vinegar for the poultry again, so the total just scraped over! I had hoped to delay the shopping to Monday, but the lack of "lunchbox-friendly" food meant I really did have to go, in order to keep the troops happy! Grapes and red apples in stock now, so they should be set for the week, along with the sliced bread - my HM bread is Ok at home, but doesn't "do" for lunchboxes - I am working on changing that idea!!December GC: £3500

Hi everyone - updated my total with spends from today, bought enough F&V and milk to last the week so that I won't be tempted to go near any shops as my total is getting really close.:o
Have meal planned until the 27th when my month ends so still confident that I can make it.;)
Dinner tonight is Roast Chicken and all the trimmings, pudding is an apple crumble using apples from the tree in the Garden so almost a "free" pud.:D
Have a good evening everyone.;)"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

I'm new to this thread. I had always been careful with my household budget but for lots of reasons things have slipped really badly the last 18 months. Lets just say life hasn't been kind!
So, I've been on the forum for a while trying to get ideas of how to put my life back in order and its going to be a long slog! My grocery budget has to be tamed, so here I am!! I did a quick tot up and my monthly spend has been about £450 per month and there's only me, OH and DD who's 4.
So my budgeted spend for the next 3 weeks is £200 and although a bit drastic compared to what we have been spending, I know that if I go back to what I used to do and keep reading here that I can do it!
Went to Mr Ts yesterday and spent £90 for what will be about 10 days worth of shopping and hopefully some extra portions for the freezer.
So, hello everyone and am looking forward to getting to know you all.Sept 09 (3 wks only to 2 Oct) GC 98.94/£200DFW LONG HAULER NO 166DFD June 2014 £68622.60 Debt at LBM£62923.60 11th Spt 09 or 8.3% reduced0 -
Hi rc01 - and welcome
