Your daughter's course sounds fab. There seem to be many more options nowadays for kids after they've done their GCSEs. In my day it was A levels and university/college or typing.Penelope_Penguin wrote: »Your art and your degree will never be wasted - your parenting will be influenced by them, and the next generation of thrift-people will certainly benefit. I bet you can do that really scary thing that teachers do of knowing what small people are doing, even if they can't be seen  Is that actually taught on teaching degrees (along with careful aim of blackboard rubbers
)
:D I think the board rubber throwing has been dropped now and replaced with computer stylus hurling.
Thanks for the comments about my training not being wasted -I hadn't thought about it like that before:) Actually today I have done something both creative and educational with my Dd. We have made a felt tortoise as a present for a cousin. I drew it and cut it out and she did most of the stitching. We are both very pleased with the result.
I did enjoy my lunch today. Couldn't be bothered with soup so a cooked a load of spaghetti and we had it with grated cheese and butter and lots of black pepperyummy. We had cherry tomatoes on the side and fruit after for vitamins.
I've made my bread and also a pot of tomato-bacon sauce for the freezer.0 -

Afternoon all
Heard last night that my house sale had fallen through because the FTB at the bottom of the chain has disappeared without trace and refuses to answer any telephone calls.
Have just heard that my vendor has another (cash) buyer which he has accepted.
So, have lost both sale and purchase in the space of 24 hours.
House currently in boxes, garden gutted, school next week and a thousand and one arrangements to make now....

Sorry about the house lillibet. Why do people have to act in that way, and don't at least have the guts to speak to persons involved and say they've changed their mind, or their circumstances have changed etc.
Hope you get another buyer soon.0 -
Evening all. Just popped on to wish everyone a good Bank Holiday weekend and if you will indulge me to say a thank you. I am sorry to say I lost the pms from the lovely OSer who sent me some jewellery and can't recall their name.
I would like to say a HUUUUUUUUGE thank you. So generous of you to send all that extra stuff and beautifully packaged too. Please ID yourself so I can give you some feedback in a bit. It is lovely and very well made. Very original and I look forward to wearing them with pride. I'll even test em out at a focus group on style next week.;)What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

Well, the Wolf's Lair is awash with tomatoes. Even with the depradation by caterpillars, we are getting loads, so having to halve and freeze some of them (my preferred way of storing for use later on).
I'm later than ever getting online today - wouldn't have made it here at all except that Mr LW is on late shift today, so not home yet (will be in a few mins though). Shepherd Spy (2nd installment) for dins, and a nice quiet evening in front of Neverwinter Nights 2 on the computer, methinks, as I need to save a bit of energy for the weekend. So many jobs to do, so little time.....:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

OMG how terrible for you, I know how stressfull it can be, we are in the middle of moving, and know just how you feel, i hope it gets sorted for you soon xx0 -
Burp - sorry to hear of your Nans passing. Sending you and your family lots of hugs.
Lillibet - sorry to hear about your house sale falling through. I can see why they say house moving ranks up there with divorce. There should be more done to stop chains failing (and no I don't mean those stupid HIP packs)
Welcome Twilight - honestly we're not as scary as we look
Had a really busy day with the kids and mindee. We spent practically the whole day in the garden (yes even in the showers!) and I am cream crackered!
H working late and kids are in bed. All I could do with now is a nice beer or glass of wine. And have neitherI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi all
Phew am I glad that day is over (almost)..not able to get out with DS as he refuses to go out if it rains so have been stuck in all day with him climbing the walls:eek:......tonight he has been crying as he has no friends which broke my heart, it was one of the things I dreaded most when we were told he had autism. I am hoping as he gets older that people will understand the way he is and he will have friends:o, it doesnt help that he wont tolerate going to peoples houses and we cant have anyone visiting here.
This MRI thing is freaking me out too....Ivyleaf did you have contrast for yours? I am hoping not as I really dont want a cannula in:o....I am also rather claustrophobic which doesnt help matters either.
Hopefully will have a better day tomorrow and sorry for being such a moaning minnie.
Lillibet sorry to hear about the house you must be livid:eek:
RedRuby glad you enjoyed hols despite the rain;)
Burp sorry to hear about your nan....hugs to you0
