Hi all! Patentgirl - I know exactly how you're feeling! Good luck to everyone; it won't be long now before you have a lovely new grandchild, too!
Will try and catch up later - still unpacking! I bought a load of good old British food with my Co-op divi payout and I've had to find room for it all! It's great to have some tins of beans in the house again, as well as lots of other goodies!
After a bright start, it's become really cloudy here; warm but no sun so the masses of washing I have will take longer to dry. Still, I suppose it will delay the ironing mountain for a while.

Mioliere - congrats on the birth of your grandaughter, think I missed that news on one of my trips away. Know what you mean about british food and beans in particular - they are my DD favourite food, she would have them for ever meal if she could!
Halight - good luck with your pathways thing, and have a good break in th van.
Pen Pen - congrats on your daughter and art college, sounds brilliant
Sorry to everyone else Ive forgotten, I have serious envy of people on here who can list everyone and make comments, I have good intentions, but as soon as I hit the reply button and my posting box comes up, I promptly forget what everyone has said!
Car was collected this morning by volkswagon garage for service - £243!. Its in a pigsty state as well with the summer trips and kids, am hoping it gets hoovered and washed for that money!
Did a small tesco run last night as knew I would be without the car today. Kids are off to their Dads this evening for the weekend, so I can pack in peace for Butlins next week!
Have a good day all.0 -
((((HUGS)))) Burp - So sorry for your loss. I'm sure you needn't feel bad about getting the car MOT'd, especially as you may be needing it.
NPM ((((HUGS)))) That must have been a shock coming out of the blue, but I'm sure the neurologist is just being careful to cover all bases as it were, so try not to panic. I had an MRI head scan a few years ago and it was noisy but interesting - amazing that the different sounds were taking pictures, as it were
mioliere - Glad you had such a lovely time with family and friends! DGD sounds gorgeous.
Pen-Pen Well done to your DD, the college of Art sounds wonderful!
Oops, got completely distracted with shopping list etc (Lidl and Asda) and have been away from pc for ages:o
Dinner will be mushroom goulash, a recipe from the Can't Go Wrong Cookbook which I bought a couple of years ago and don't think I've ever used until now, as somehow it was in a different place from the rest of my cookbooksThere are some nice-sounding recipes in it, but unfortunately there are no pictures
My tummy feels very uncomfortable, must be the iron pills, hope it won't take long to get used to them!0 -
Morning all
My it is very wet out there this morning. What happened to the good forecast? Well I suppose it was to be expected with the Leeds Festival being held this weekend, what is a festival without rain and mud lol:rotfl:
Burp so sorry for your loss, I agree though you will probably need the car in the next few weeks/days so you have nothing to feel guilty about!
Pen-pen Congrats to your DD - hope she likes Leeds as much as we do!
NPM ((((Hugs)))))Try not to worry too much (easy to say I know):grouphug:
Mioliere - can you post any photos?
Rosyred - glad you had a nice birthday:D
Redruby enjoy your last day, why do holiday weeks go soooooo much quicker than work weeks????
Diva:hello:
I have just finished work for the day (short day for me on a friday:D) and am going to the local shopping centre, to pay some bills, return a top and various bits and bobs and then need to start getting things ready for the caravan weekend. Think the traffic this evening might be horrendous what with it being Bank Holiday and the Leeds Festival too, so might just buy some ear plugs for whilst we are in the car coz OH is bound to start ranting on:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Ooooh sun has just come out - right going to dash before it rains again - have a good day all

Morning All,
Haven't been on the thread for ages but have popped in from time to time to see how things are. Hope you are all keeping well.
Have still been carrying on old-style, main change in my circumstances is that I'm getting divorced. OH has agreed I can take over the mortgage, so I'm going to have to be even more creative than in the past. I know my finances will improve eventually as well, as he's paid nothing towards his Son's upkeep for the past 8 years! And he earns a lot more than me.
Looking forward to DS going back to school to do some planning and de-cluttering!
Would love to have some of the rain the rest of you are having. My garden is looking scorched. Sunny and windy here today. Off to hang some washing out.
Have a good day all.

Hi am new. And want a better way in life, ifswim. So am using my left overs, and shoving them in the slow cooker for tonight dinner.

Hope everyone else has a nice day xMoney saving is my main plan now!0 -
Morning peeps
well it will probably be afternoon by the time i actually press the submit button!
Busy day here so far, i sat in the garden with my cuppa earlier planning my day but the weather has scuppered quite a few of my plans. It was lovely and sunny but now we are getting really heavy bouts of rain so the garden side of things will have to wait.
The houndies were walked at first light and then i popped off to Asda for the offers, got most of what i had on my list but the dog and cat food offers had all disappeared, next stop was the pet shop for the dog food that we buy in huge sacks and then off to the vets for little oldies repeat prescription, i`m now surrounded by things that need sorting out and storing but am having a well earnt breather first.
I went to Morrisons last night for their offers and did really well, the burgers and sausages were great as i`m low carbing atm so breakfast and dinner are sorted for a few weeks now, this afternoon i need to sort out the freezer and make a new list. I don`t know why i never manage to keep the list up to date from last time that i did it, hate getting the cold hands too!
I`ve picked more tomatoes from the greenhouse and have more cucumbers to pickle and pasta sauce to make so that will fill most of my afternoon, in between the showers i shall pick some more runner beans to blanch and freeze as they seem to be growing at great speed now.
DH had the hm lime marmalade for breakfast this morning and it seems that this is going to be a firm favourite, i actually made it as a gift for someone else but i can see me having to make more in the not too distant future, got to admit though it is extremely tasty with just the right amount of bitterness mingled in.
Rosyred - Belated birthday wished to you, lovely to hear that you enjoyed your day yesterday.
Mioliere - Glad that you enjoyed your trip, don`t forget to post a picture of the new arrival.
Bitsy - Good job that you saw the wing mirror incident, how awful of the driver not to have stopped.
Tired Mum - Sorry to hear about your car, i do hope that you manage to get things sorted.
Congratulations to all the DD`s and DS`s with good exam results :j i need to prise myself back out of the chair and into the kitchen now
Have a good day folks.

Afternoon all,
It's pouring down here and looking at the forecast it's due to continue all weekend:eek:
Kids are back to school on Tues - although ds1 had a half day yesterday. Dh got home from Canada yesterday safe and sound and doesn't have to go away till November (so far!!!!)
We had the sausage plait for lunch from the thread - very tasty with a reduced box of stuffing mix and a small onion - but I did get home from work to find 2 buns, half a pack of digestives and quarter of a bakewell pudding gone - I shall be glad when ds1's appetite is safely back at school. At least they didn't eat it all or touch the choc tiffin cake in the fridge.
Going to tidy out the big kitchen cupboard this afternoon - taking advantage of a mood for decluttering. Then I shall reward myself with a coffee from my new machine and a copy of one of my all time favourite children's books that I found in the charity shop - "Six Cousins at Mistletoe Farm" - a great OS influence
Congrats to Miss PenPen - sounds great.
Hugs to all who need them - and have a good day:beer:“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Afternoon all
I've just arrived home from work & am now cream crackered, I was there til 9:30 last night & started at 8 this morning. I did enjoy myself this morning as I did a stocktake of all the uniform in the school shop, I also cleaned the shop & re-organised it all. It gave me a great sense of satisfaction, but I'd like to know why I was doing it rather than the person who runs the shop, she earns way more than I do.
Anyway, Washing dried on the line while I was out I'm just about to bring it in & put the next lot out. I also popped in to see a friend who had a bag of clothes for me, woohoo, it's like Christmas, most of them still have the price labels on them.
HM Chinese for tea tonight.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
