Angel, realistically they can't really "police" it though. They can't babysit everyone who is on JSA, they're clearly overworked as it is
Yes i agree,
and thats why the benefits system is so flawed and messedup.
Im honestly not the bad guy whos trying to scam hardworking people out of their money,
thats the job of the government through things like the benefits system!:rolleyes:
They are the ones who choose to set it up in this extremely disprortionate way,
where people are rewarded with HUGE amounts of cash each month for just being irresponsible and getting themself into certain situations,
cash which is taken from the hardworking people who COULD have just as easily let themself get into that situation,
but who instead took control of their lives and didnt,
and as a result they have to fund the irresposible people and the messed up system.
And the really vicicous thing is that UNLESS you actually work in a givernment job, (remember they are the 1s who choose to create this flawed system and then keep it), but unless you manage to 'join them' and work for them,
your salary WONT be linked and rise each year with inflation,
WHILE theirs will.
And thats why the government are so sooo pleased and care-free with the huge national debt and messedup financial state of the country...:o:cool:
Remember it only costs a few pennies to make £1million cash. :A
Flick of a switch in the vault of the printing machine in the bank of england, a few pence worth of paper,
and theres 1million pounds more cash in circulation that can pay for all the stuff and to all the people that the system owes.
But dont forget that everytime they do that (done on an hourly basis now),
they are devaluing the currency and making every £10 note in your wallet and your bank account worth less, and so able to buy you less stuff when you get your PAYE paycheque.
They the policy and system makers dont care though, as they have no reason to since their salary is linked into inflation, so they wont earn less,
will actually profit from the inflation and they open ly now even say taht ''we in britain want inflation''.
The people who amass these benefits for being irresponsible dont care either,
As their benefits amount also rises with inflation.
So the people who once again get fuked are the hardworking, low income earners,
who will eventually find that their fixed low salary which used to be just enough to scrape by on the bare minimum,
now no longer cant even do that and so they have to move to even smaller home in even worse area of city, and have even less food to eat each week, just to keep surving.0 -
I am surprise Angel has not been banned yet!
...and if I was speechless before I have lost my voice now!!
According to the news family values are supposed to be making a return, but when you read this board I see very little evidence.
To the op, get some back bone and tell that person, who you live with and have a sexual relationship with, to start being honest and supporting you or just leave. There is no point moaning you can't get benefits as a single person but you are far from it.0 -
I think people are jumping the gun abit here, she has given a brief description of her circumstances. Their relationship could be really good but in the early stages before real commitment has been considered.
I don't think you should be considered for benefits at all though as you are living with your 'partner' who, without any doubt if you have a future, will help you out on the money side of things if need be.
If neither of you discuss your personal income with each other then maybe you should do so, if what you are paying is a strain on you.0 -
Angel's views are exactly what is wrong with this board and this country. Thankfully on this board there are more honest than otherwise.
I am very glad my son has not turned out like Angel. I am very proud of my son who works hard and is learning a trade that will stand him in good stead for the future. Thankfully, my son does not look to take what he can get, by fair means our foul.
It may be legal but morally it is so, so corrupt.0 -
years ago there were no tax credits
you worked your fingers to the bone to survive and pay the bills and to eat
any kind of benefit was a crutch until you got back on your feet
it wasnt expected or a right and you didnt like to go cap in hand to the "dole office" as it was called then.
your husband/wife provided for both of you when times were hard
I myself had 3 part time jobs and my hubby worked from 5 in the morning till 9 at night 6 days a week , my second husband worked 2 jobs to keep us because i took very ill and couldnt work.
you are NOT a single person if you are living with someone in a sexual relationship, nor should you be treated a such.0 -
The OPs screen name is ASTRO WIFE. which leads to believe she is married, making the whole idea that he doeasnt count for WTC even more ridiculous. and how can you have a relationship and be so separate like that, its sounds liek a real strain0

It depends on what part of the country you live in.
*In Surrey/London the weekly over 25s single HB rate is £170per week,
if you have 1 kid you are entitled to 2bed rate of £207 per week.(that is high as my allowance in cheshunt for a 3bed is 182 and that includes the 15 extra as i live in a 2bed with 3kids) Live in a house smaller than you are entitled to and you pay less rent and there is scope to 'earn' up to 15 wk more..........
4 x 207 = 828per month paid into your bank. - Actually that would be 207x52 divided by 12 as there are 5 weeks in some mths
*Then you get £53per week in child tax credits. x4 = 206per month more into the bank.
*£15 per week council tax benefit for another nice £60 cash per month. Again 15x52/12 = mthly amt
*And then you aslo look for a job.., so you get £64 per week jsa,
which will be another £256 per week,
(I looked and saw that theres a ridculous policy that you only have to apply for 2jobs per week too!!)
Yep you read it correct, not 2jobs per hour like you should be doing, and people who actually want a job do do.
Not even 2per day, which itself would be extremely lazy as it takes a few seconds to email a CV and cover letter to a job vacancy,
so you would only have to spare 10seconds per day! lol
Plus you would get Healthy start vouchers of 6.20 from birth to 1 year and then 3.10 from 1-3. Then from first day of school will get free school dinners. If you use cash equivalents that ups the income............
But just apply for 2jobs per week. (just do 2 on monday monring to get them out the way before breakfast, and then you have the whole week and weekend free to relax and enjoy the security of steady guaranteed income).
I havent just invented these numbers either, go on entitled to and do it yourself.
This is just for 1kid too, god knows how many more hundreds of pounds per month they pay you for each additional baby you have.
Copy & paste from entited to
That £340 per week equals a whopping £1,360 tax free per month, every month!!
In cash thats just inder £17,000 pure cash in hand each year. + HSV/Free school meals
Which is the equivalent of what you get when you manage to earn £22,600 per year and pay tax on it.
(Not to mention how many hundreds of pounds per month, each month, you would have to spend in travel to work though)
put a cple notes in red.DFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debtsJust to see which month

5 weeks in a month? So which months are 35 days long?0 -
-
When working out weekly money into monthly the rule is usually to multiply by 4.33 so 4 weeks, 3 and a 1/3 days.
Plus another benefit is the prescription charges at £7 a go, plus free opticians at £10+ a go for an eye test. Plus the dental care at £50+ a go.0
