Done the kids school shopping and recovered from that, still no joy with the tax office and found a carpet cleaner for £14 for all day which I'm getting later in the week. Now to entertain children whilst I work................
Another thing is I put two entries in for the same bill so I have £92 more than I thought, wondering whether to pay it off something or leave it as it would then be £92 off the overdraft (which is £500), might be a psychological thing not to be maxxed on overdraft but don't want any temptation there either?1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

Sounds like its the same man and also sounds like there are more than 2 version so him.
I got my 'spike' from ebay and I love it - really really sad I know but hey I'm quite proud to be a DFW Saddo!!
Ref the SOA well done on posting up there. I know its really scary but it does help us all help each other. My two pennies: FAB that you income is more than our outgoings (when I started I was short a little each month).
All your bills look fairly OK and reasonable. However with my budgeting/spending diary head on you don't appear to have included anything for: holidays (i know you said you'd forgo for a while but worth including a little amount), childcare and I was going to say birthdays/Xmas but you've covered that (I've just checked again). I've found that these things get spent so I need to allow for them.
What you need to do it ID which card/loan you are going to pay off first. There's s snowball thing/link on here (whatsthecost) that helps you see the affect of paying off cards etc in the correct order. Sometimes its nice to get a smaller one out of the way to feel that you are making progress.

Workinghard - I suppose I should factor in holidays, was just trying to be well behaved. Childcare can cost us £0 or £50 a week, depending on whether MIL helps out but I may put £50 a month aside just in case?
As for paying off one card, think it's going to have to be Egg - they are raising my interest rate from 20% to 26.9% as I can afford it and more likely because I have used the card to move money round. Tempted to opt out, pay off as much under the 0% deal which is on the card until Jan'10 and then accept the 20%. I doubt I'll get any more offers and I may be able to move it elsewhere but if I can't then I don't want to be stuck with 26.9%!! What to do, what to do................
Nothing more exciting on money front, really need to get my !!!! into gear, I think I could get a few hundred pounds from ebaying but just not done it! Will try and get it done this weekend.
Would like to pay an extra £366.36 somehow so that makes me under the £77k mark :rotfl:I have to laugh or I'll cry!!
Nearly fessed up to my best friend today about the mess but then worried she would judge me, disown me for being a pauper friend (only joking!) and so bottled it. My little (or big) secret................
Been running tonight which was free and now I can sit and eat chocolate guilt free. Hurrah!!!1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

your egg card runs out bout the same time as mine. im sure it said that after the first 12 months they would offer another 0% deal. if not (and assuming you have other debts you can shift) try asking them if they will do a good rate (l.o.b if possible) if you balance transfer some funds to it........................they can only say no!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

I know what you mean about telling people, it feels like such an admission of failure. I have to shamefully admit that we've told no one. Although I am positive if people did speak up they would be suprised by just how many peeps are in the same boat. Mind you I didn't/won't!
Good news about the Egg card, easy to find the extra, a bit of ebaying and you'll be there. Its still suprises me what you can get for bits of stuff around the home! Have a go you'll be suprised!Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

This is my second offer so I think it will be my last - would like to get rid of them and maybe it's a good challenge to set myself!1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

That's exactly what I'm scared of, that my friend will then analyse everything we've spent, done, bought and judge me. It would be nice to have someone to talk to about it, which is why it helps to come here. OH just umms and aahs, nods and then turns the computer on  He has however spent money today on a non essential BUT has put the receipt in the tin so he is feeling quite proud of himself...1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

Thats it In My Dreams if the feelings that get associated with the spending. I know when we were racking up our debt, slowly month by month, not really thinking about how it would be paid off and feeling guilty. I can honesty say its wonderful to have broken that habit well and truly. Now when I spend money on nice bits of stuff (whatever they are and whenever that happens!) I get a real buzz from knowing they are bought and paid for by hard earned 'cash' and not credit. I personally have spent years with spending guilt - not very nice!
My OH (clearly there are many morphs of him out there) doesn't really like to talk about it all but he has changed over the last nearly 2 years. Now he see's the progress and has surrendered control (I'm a teeny bit of a control freak I guess) its better all round. Receipt spike are all he needs and the finance fairy does the rest!!Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0
