HI IMD, so good to hear that OH is firmly on board now :T

Yes, over paying in the mortgage is a good thing. We have always tried to up the payments and reduce the term every time we switch deal. To me the interest rate is not that different to other debts, yet the repayment period is soooooooooo much longer, so why would you not treat it as the other debts and repay asap......

Makes perfect sense to me. Hope you have another good day :)

Thank you P, think I might just be starting to get there after all this time!

Had fairly uneventful day, no money spent, lovely tea by OH. He has been out food shopping tonight and spent £73 but the boy's done good.

Done the weekly add up - last week we spent £71 on food and £70.94 general spends including:- 3 x presents, prescription, husband's few drinks out with friends, DD's ballet exam and 4 x Easter Eggs (97p each at Tescos!)

So I am pretty impressed. Budget starts again tomorrow. Few nice things planned with kids which are budgeted for and OH is being lovely and upbeat, so hopefully trouble/stress free weekend.......................please!

    Aw thank you :D

I'm really excited about going to open an ISA tomorrow just to have some money in savings. Have been living under the cloud of debt for so many years now, probably about 17 years , and have fumbled along, pretending to do something about it, getting it clear and then starting again. This time I really think it is different and I will get rid of it!

Gosh - how dramatic that sounds!

Off to bed now, busy day tomorrow!
