I don't see as there is any need to tape anything - I think it's a bit paranoid tbh. - just have someone take notes. Then you have a witness as to what was said.

Read more than once about people stating when they complained, and had a witness, atos tried to discredit the witness.

Its not really paranoid if you read how many times people have stated atos told 'untruthes' on the reports - plenty of examples all over google.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
    [/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

That is assuming those people were telling the truth:rolleyes:

The general public are quite capable of telling the odd lie themselves you know. I've known it to happen on one or two occassions.

As are ATOS examiners, I have known it to happen on every occasion I have met one.

You dont - but the dwp do, as do the appeals service.

I've been for two medicals and both times ATOS have told untruthes. On both medical reports they have reported the opposite on many questions and twisted the answers I gave so I would fail my medical.

  • I'm in a bit of as quandary here.

On one hand, I have no reason to disbelieve people who say that ATOS have 'lied' and 'twisted the answers' to their questions.

On the other hand I have to ask why ATOS should do so? It's no skin off their nose whether you pass the medical or not.

Is it not possible that in many of these instances a) you didn't explain correctly or b) they made a genuine mistake? (which of course needs putting right, but not done deliberately).

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

    A very brave post.

I hope you like a long discussion/argument if certain people see this!

Or better still ignore the rubbish!

Its possible it wasn't explained properly BUT the part about why ATOS would do it is what interests me. If it is the government's intention to have however many people OFF sickness benefits then it could be plausible that a government contracted company such as ATOS could have "targets" to meet in rewgards to people failing/passing medicals?

You are taking the mick - but for those lurking here - you will see time after time people who have been cheated by ATOS e.g. zero points becoming 21 after independent tribunal (which isn't exactly independent either).

ATOS got their contract based on value for money - the DWP economical objectives would be taken into account i.e. target of 1 million off benefits.

This is also why ESA was brought in to replace IB - to reach targets.

ATOS want to keep contract and that is why they are so rigourous.
