  • Its ust very funny and ironic how people who claim that they are basically too 'fraile' mentally to be able to face going outside and having to interact with other people and work,
are yet fully capable to spend hours writing long indepth debates on the internet with other people! :rotfl::rolleyes:

    Not really.

Spending time typing something on a computer screen is very different to having a conversation with someone.

Could someone with mental health problems (who is capable of these sorts of debates on here) be able to do something like data entry? That would not necessarily mean interaction but is still a worthwhile job? Just an idea before anyone attacks me

There are thousands and thousands of jobs that dont require any interaction with people.

And im sure that if this 'indepth debating with people' energy was instead channelled into work training,
that these people would be be able to easily do many jobs.

(They will have to work something out in a few months anyways when the tories come in and move them all onto jsa)

I personally don't think that everyone will be moved onto jsa, but that's another topic.

As with any illness, whilst we can look at how we think people can manage, that is very often not reality. Sure, someone may spend time being able to formulate an argument on an internet forum, but at a rate which would equate to them giving the same input into working???

It's very easy for someone unaware of the facts to make presumptions, but not always as easy as some make out.

I think scoot, that any job requires a level of commitment, and although I can appreciate that people assume someone 'can use an internet forum, therefore can also do a data entry job', there is the possibility that someone with health problems will not be able to commit to that job.

I can use the internet. I assume I could do a data entry job, but I couldn't commit, because I have no way of knowing when my condition will flare up so that I can't use the computer.

    LOL

Sorry but you just made me nearly wet myself laughing when you implied that i would spend more effort in doing my current job,
than i do spent in debating on forums. :T:cool::o:beer:

I actually cant remember the last time i did even a a tiny fraction of real solid work at my job,
yet im really really loving this switch from being self employed to 'preset monthly salary', as i get paid the same no matter how little effort i put in. :o

Like I said, just an idea. of course, some employers do make allowances for things like this as they do for back problems but there are also a lot of employers who don't.
