Incapacity Benefit Wrongly Stopped - Failed Medical

I think you miss the point that ONW was making. Dont think for a second they are saying that everyone on IB is having an easy time.
I think you and onw are both missing THE point, which is the government are quite UNCONCERNED that ATOS are failing many people out of hand for esa because the criteria has been changed, many people have appealed and been given their benefit, many more are waiting to appeal.
This process was used to get people off IB and even though it was made harder to get the benefit, the numbers remained similar and most of the appeals were granted.Don't forget the Government set the rules and do the medicals.
To cut a long story short anyone who thinks that all these changes are not simply a money saving exercise by the government and bear no relevance to helping sick people is living in cloud cuckooland.
As to the comment by ONW ref my husbands salary when he worked, compared to many people and considering the time he spent away from home,it was hardly vast and i have worked myself since leaving school and never been out of work,we live in a semi ,the buinesses are small family concerns of which i have no financial or working interest.I simply used this as an example to confirm his inability to work.
I think some people on here need to read the welfare reform bill in full to see what the future holds for sick and disabled people!!
I am reminded why i seldom post on here now, because every comment made results in an arguement with someone,so i won't bother again.
For anyone who wants to know more about the welfare reform bill there are some excellent sites on the net who deal in facts and not insults. There are two sides to every story.

Did you not raise it before hand?
I was not surprised DWP 'lost' it0 -

Not sure what theis for.
Not sure how this helps the OP with their inquiry either.
I presume you have followed the complaints procedure detailed and also continued your appeal to the Commissioners on the basis that the tribunal erred by choosing to ignore vital evidence because they were biased?
Just how long ago was this appeal?0 -

I think he got his money in the end, I am sure I will corrected if I am wrong.0 -
How can they have been fair and correct?
Its 58 percent of people than *win* their case at tribunal - ie they went to tribunal claiming they were turned down for IB unfairly - then the tribunal agreed and reversed the DWP decision and granted them IB.
The decision was therefore originally unfair and incorrect, as benefits were incorrectly stopped, until the tribunal where 58 percent of claimaints (who take a representative) win their case.
A decision can be incorrect without being unfair!0 -

You seem to forget that many people on here agree with the changes and with the government's policies.0 -

Some may, but based on my observations of the forum, that does not mean they have to go around often ignoring evidence, and ganging up thanking each others posts even when they dont have any real facts, or proof in them, and ignoring solid evidence. (You would think a certain group of posters are all in love or something, the way they religiously thank posts made by one another regardless of whether they actually contain any facts or not, yet consistently fail to do the same for other posts, simply because the facts do not agree with their view.)
Nor does it mean they should report posters to abuse without solid grounds (which has already happened, not that anything came of it), nor should they themselves abuse the board by making unfounded accusations, without being willing to enter into a discussion about them (which has happened), nor does it mean posters should complain about other posters posting not 100 percent on topic posts, when they are just (if not more so) guilty of the same.
As a side note - any poster who actually works for the civil service should always remember the civil service code, and be very wary of posting political views on a forum - as it can be a breach of the code to be seen having views in public (one worker was fired for doing such a thing, campaigning against MP's expenses).....[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
I never understand why people have such a problem with other people thanking each other, it does not really matter.
It is one thing not be off topic but it is another to keep going on about the same thing again and again when it has no relevance to the OPs post. This is not a discussion board.
I have not reported anyone to abuse or made accusations, I not seen any either unless I missed it.0 -
alwaysonthego did, and that was after earlier in the thread refusing to enter into any discussion over his statement that I made 'unfounded' statements, which was made in a rather OTT post with various insults in. (mind numbing, boring, etc)

I have to agree that your posts are boring, I do not mean to be rude but you do keep saying the same things which makes them boring.0
