i would have thought the internet shopping system would be linked to the stores stock control system so the stores system could order extra stock for cusotmers wanting large numbers of a certain item
It isn't. Only Ocado use a centralise system the rest of them send your goods through the nearest large store. The stores systems don't take account of internet orders as they presume they are just orders from people who would use the shops.
The only online supermarkets I would use again are Ocado and Sainsburys. While Sainsburys did forget items there delivery drivers are always polite, helpful and don't automatically assume because they were brought up in the area that your house doesn't exist.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Never had a problem with any of them! sure the odd missing item, but that's about it!
I'm not loyal - just wait for the "You've not shopped with us for a while, here's a free delivery and 10% off.
It's bound to be a different shopping experience, can't guarentee what you order will be available as they clearly state. So asking for compensation is just pathetic. compensation culture in full flow.
They should however deal with any issues in a timely manner, but they do have millions of customers to deal with - and I guess as one is always on hold millions of complaints!
To add there was once when I was performing a Christmas shop and ordered loads of booze as you do, there was quite a bit missing, I felt like I was on a no winner when I called, it arrived a few hours later!
Also had additional shopping delivered, which is obviously someone elses, I call and tell them but they can't take it back as it could have been contaminated or the environment for the cold items isn't controlled so they say keep it... sure not good for those you had ordered it!
Out of all the orders they do, I bet the issue rate is pretty small really.0 -
I agree with you. I would be angry as well. who has time for all this? They need to sort themselves out and when I had a similar problem (not half as bad though) with Tesco wine they refunded me £10.00 to my card.

I have to post about my experience with Asda as they have seriously peed me off.
I was then pushed even furthur over the edge, when i rang the customer service line, was straight away put on hold for a good 15mins, and got trhough to those wonderful foreign ppl with the very strange accents
They're called Northerners ;-)0 -

In my experience they're actually South Africans. Very friendly and helpful though.
We stopped using Asda because of items which shouldnt be unavailable but were, like bananas. They'd never deliver them but first thing you see in the store we got ours delivered from was stacks of bananas, all year round and all day long!
They were quite good for free delivery codes thoughno probs with them not banking on certain accounts AND you could do your shop then add your code when you found it, unlike Tesco where it has to be added at first checkout.

ASDA are just useless... she adds into what everyone else is saying. They're not fond if intricacies; I order one bottle of sweet white wine per week, and half the time with them I used to get dry. When I phoned the complain (I waited until they'd done it four times), the operator was very "uh, how is that not the same? Isn't white wine white wine?". Well... no
I'm not sure where you are, but I have a friend in Aberdeen who had continual problems. She found out which stores the deliveries were coming from, and directed her complaints there. That got a much swifter response. It's usually the nearest big store that will deliver to you, I believe.
Send a complaint to the manager of the issuing store, as it is actually their problem rather than one on the internet shopping side. They're more of an admin base who pass orders on to the actual stores. So, find the store and complain directly to them.
Oh, and Tesco now tell me when an item is not available at my store. Not every time, but usually, and they're orders are rarely incorrect. They're the online store for me, as Sainsbury's and Ocado tend to have a few days wait time - with Tesco, I can order at 9pm for a delivery the next morning.0 -

You obviously havent had to deal with any real problem from them, but if you had, im sure youd be a little more sympathetic0 -
