You obviously havent had to deal with any real problem from them, but if you had, im sure youd be a little more sympathetic

Nope, I havn't, and I've been using them for years as said for every complaint there are 1000's of satisfied people.
  • I have used Sainsbury's and Ocado and I rate Ocado every time. I've never had an out of stock item. They always arrive on time, I get a text to say they're coming a couple of hours before, I always get a free newspaper and voucher for free wine for my next shop. I then get follow up emails with 10-15% off my next order. One problem I had (a tuna and red pepper fishcake in a pack with a haddock fishcake) was refunded as soon as I called them, and some of the prices are cheaper online than instore.

I now will only shop there because I know I can rely on them. Yes, I know asda may be cheaper but as we don't have a car I rely on big supermarket online shops. And for those of you who say that I may be spending more on shopping - I don't have the overheads of a car.

I don't work for Ocado btw!!!!

I would never ever do my food shopping online. ever. You cannot expect shops to stock absalutly everything and how do they get their stuff for you? does a member of staff have to go round the shop for you?

Yes thats how it works. They employ people to go round the store doing your shop OR it comes from a warehouse. They do generally let you know at time of ordering if something is out of stock. I've a feeling this online shopping malarkey might catch on and you'll see Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys vans all over. Maybe they'll even start offering online discount codes to tempt us to shop online.
  • I am so annoyed was expecting an Asda delivery tonight between 6-8pm. They phoned at 5 to 6 to say that they were not going to be able to make it as they were running too far behind! They are saying they cant deliver until Monday!!! Problem is they have taken the money for the said shopping out my account (I presume it will take days to get this back). I am know stuck with nothing in for tea, no bread, no milk, no squash and no dog food and more importantly no money. I am writing this while calling their CS. I called them and got cut off before they answered (was on phone 7 mins). This phone call is at 11 minutes already. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks in advance.

Normally asda dont take the money until they deliver...
  • Until 2 weeks ago I would have defended Asda, but in the past 2 weeks we've had 2 deliveries from them, the first one caused me to post on these forums where they overcharged me by £60 although the actual shopping list they printed out and gave to us came tot eh right amount (I'm still awaiting the money back from them!) and then today we had 7 items that were not available (annoying, but it happens - although not usually that many) BUT on top of that, there was £14 worth of stuff that the driver just didn;t deliver, and I had to wait 20 minutes on the phone to try and sort it out.

As with others on this post, I was told I would be rung back, but as yet nothing, so I'm going to the store tomorrow to discuss it with the store manager.
