I am so annoyed was expecting an Asda delivery tonight between 6-8pm. They phoned at 5 to 6 to say that they were not going to be able to make it as they were running too far behind! They are saying they cant deliver until Monday!!! Problem is they have taken the money for the said shopping out my account (I presume it will take days to get this back). I am know stuck with nothing in for tea, no bread, no milk, no squash and no dog food and more importantly no money. I am writing this while calling their CS. I called them and got cut off before they answered (was on phone 7 mins). This phone call is at 11 minutes already. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks in advance.

Its bloody frustrating isnt it? In the end, when finally someone did call me back, i told them to bog off, and went to Tesco instead. Meant that instead of my usual shop of every wednesday each week, i didnt get what i needed in until saturday...ended up spending money we just dont have...and getting stressed out!

I dont know what you can do...make sure you email Asda letting them know, they may offer you better compensation that they offered me (a free delivery voucher...but im NEVER shopping with Asda again!)

Normally asda dont take the money until they deliver...

They provisionally take it out of your account the morning of the delivery , if it hasnt been delivered or accepted it takes almost a week to return to your account.

They did this once to me and i never used them again as i had no money and no shopping for the week , had to scrounge off my parents.

    Hate asda online.

Asda can take up to 3 weeks for a return if you look at the website! so i could take 3 weeks for you to get the money back.

asda hideous - not going to ever use them again

ocado are superb, their drivers are fab and have far more leeway than the others when it comes to sorting out problems - they also text you the day before telling you what if anything is out of stock, i have only ever had one item oos with all the orders ive had with them

no im not emplyed by them but they are far superior

Agree about Ocado drivers - they are personable and professional at the same time. I also have only ever had one OOS item (and the replacement was acceptable - IIRC it was a whole cucumber for a half one).

The last Asda drivers that delivered (there were two - I don't know why) were apes - unintelligible speech, slow-witted, and one of them walked into a wall on the way out.
  • blimey, so glad i read this as ive been tempted to do online shop to try and reduce costs, but now i think ill stick to what i know and put up with an hour trawling thru the store as i only have a set amount in bank each week for food, kids to feed and no one to borrow off if it goes t!ts up!

I think this forum is very misleading. There are problems shopping in store and on-line you just need to look at the messages on this board. I have had problems shopping on-line but then I have had problems shopping in store. Shopping on-line is much easier, less stressful and cheaper as you only get the items you actually want you don't pick up those tempting extras.
