Mike, don't have anything useful to add but good luck with this I hope you get it sorted, good on you for not being bullied into paying what you do not owe. There are a lot of threads on here by people trying to weasel out of debts but this isn't one of them, I wouldn't bother arguing with suesuesue they are only trying to wind you up.0

bumpoowee, genuinely, thank you. i am glad that at least one perosn will publically speak up with some common sense, thanks again0

mike, I would behave like you. However, as long as you have done your homework and can proove that it was buy now pay later then I cannot see why people dont support you here. Surely thats what this site is about.
If shop direct have done something wrong their side they should pay for their mistakes and in your "£1,000" scenario you should only pay "£1,000" in feb 2010 and not a penny more.0 -
thanks Viks. that ia all I am asking, as I have stressed to shop direct themselves, i want to pay the debt, just on the terms initially agreed. i have got a full credit agreement here proving buy now pay later for one account, so i am certain any legal challenge against me would fail on that. the other purchases were done over the phone, and all confirmed as buy now pay later, i hve asked for copies of the recorded phonecalls, which have conveniently been 'mislaid', their words, not mine0

Why not ignore it till February, pay off what you owe and then argue over the interest and charges they've added on?0

may well do that, hopefully it will mean less hassle and look much better on me if it goes to court0

i would take that with a pinch of salt. Between now and feb is a LONG time for the creditors to wreak havoc with your credit rating.I feel like the day he died0 -
what protection do as a consumer have?
surely if the company alleges something, but can't prove it, then they can't legally do me any damage?0
