    Afternoon all.

Firstly, best wishes to all expecting exam results today.

TiredMum :mad::mad: I'd want to throw paintstripper over the culprit if that was me.

Molly I'll keep everything crossed for poor little Squeak.

Penny Penguin :eek::eek: I thought my dreams were weird, but that takes the chocolate biscuit!

Wmf eeeeouchhhhh! Painful - well done on not passing out in a little heap on the floor (that's what I'd have done).

Mr LW is w*rking from home today :j so I've made the customary Shepherd Spy for lunch - must get it into the oven in a few mins, to be ready for 13:00.
We're off into Central MK later, got quite a few errands to do, including banking the cheque for the dog-sitting.

I've once more managed to empty the wash bin - loads of stuff out on the line now. I even saved a little life this morning. When I put the washing out, there was a bee tangled up in a spider's web on the rotary line, and I managed to free her, and she flew off a bit shaken, but unharmed.:o

Had a "cold calling" phone call on my mobile earlier - gods alone know where they got my number - anyway, the number calling was displayed, so I've kept it, and if they ring again I shall just "red button" it.:mad::mad:

Well, onwards and upwards I guess; ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • I'm getting nowhere fast today, I went to work at 8 & was sent home at 9 as I'd done everything urgent, was phoned & asked to go back at 10 & was finished & home just after 11:45. Just had another call asking if I can do 6 till 9 tonight. Snafu!

Sorry to hear about your car TiredMum.

I work from home so I am just taking ten minutes to have a cup of tea before I get back to things.

A friend gave me a simply HUGE pile of rhubarb, so this evening will be spent making rhubarb and ginger jam, and browsing (again) Tightwad Gazette ready for September's Challenge.

Ooh, I didn't realise it was RosyRed's birthday (I never think to check for birthdays, just rely on what other folks have posted).

    Have a good one, RR.

  • Glad you are having a nice Hol Redruby - we are off to Bude tomorrow for the w/e with the 2 younger SK's, so hoping for some sunshine!
DSD got her GCSE results today 1xA*, 8xA's, 1xB & 1xC - she is very pleased and her Dad is very proud of her (as am I of course! Although she has obviously not been able to inherit her brains from me, I like to think I've helped with homework etc!!!). So she will be happy all w/e which is a relief!

Tiredmum - that is terrible about your car - again! So frustrating that you know the culprit but can't do anything about it - no wonder people take the law into their own hands sometimes, it's easy to see how people can be tempted to when you hear about cases like this. (((HUGS))).

Well, we went for another scan today, coupled with a blood-test to determine the risk of downs etc. Very pleased with the results! Not only did we get to see the baby really clearly and hear the heartbeat, which was wonderful! but our risk of downs was downgraded from 1:139 (high due to my advancing years!) to 1:2784, which is very low! Great joy & relief all round!

Had another 'bout' with HR this afternoon re the forthcoming redundancies - have to be interviewed for 'my' job next Weds - but even that could not dampen my spirits!

Got to do some baking tonight to take with us at the w/e, and make a bolognaise to take for tomorrow night's tea when we get to the caravan.

Hope you all have a good w/e & bank Hol - back on Tuesday!

    FE -x-
