    morning all,

    Its not raining today :T:j

I met up with mummysaver and her dd yesterday, we had a couple of coffees, and then hit primark and lakeland, she is really lovely, and we chatted the time away, her dd was also delightful, really chatty but very polite, it was so nice to meet them :j( I hope my dd was not too teenagerish :o)

My dd had a whale of a time in primark, bought herself more clothes , but its her money, and she has enjoyed spending it.

Today we are off to Taar steps and a look around exmoor national park, will make some rolls up to take with us.

Our little cottage here is right in the woods, with a river running beside it, and overlooking a pond. We have to feed the ducks each morning and night, and if you are late they come up to the door and herd you over to the food :rotfl:there is also a mum with 5 ducklings they are very cute.

Sausage sandwich for breakfast, veggie bacon for dd, cheese and tomato rolls for lunch, and jacket spuds for tea with cheese, ham toms etc.

I have just put a wash on, only the 2nd one since we have been here, and I have not hoovered all week :T

Good luck to all those getting results today xx

Tiredmum, omg  how terrible, hope you manage to get it sorted and get back on your holiday xx

Have not heard from kathy for a while, hope all is ok xx

Molly good luck for the piggie xx

Esses girl, your dinner sounds lovely, room for three more ?? :D

    Have good days all xx

    Morning everyone :)

Well it's sunny here :o ... we had rain in the early morning but now we have blue sky with a bit of white cloud, not overly warm but nice and bright so got a load in the washing machine due to finish in an hour and it can go out on the line :) nice not having it drying in the house!

Was meant to be going into school today to sort my room but going to hospital to visit my nan, got a text from my dad to say it looks like she only has a few hours and that my mum is there already ... I don't know how many times someone can be told this but I imagine my mum is a right wreck for the 4th or 5th time  have also told OH that we won't be doing our trip to Pembroke this weekend just in case

came downstairs this morning to find cat had been sick on sofa  and also had an upset tummy in the tray, oh joy :o

Good luck to those doing their GCSE's, wish I could go back to that time ... sadly I really enjoyed mine :o 10 years ago for me

  • Hi everyone,

Do you mind if I join this board. I've posted on here before but it was a long time ago. I'm really trying to cut spending as i've been made redundant. I find all your ideas and tips very inspirational.

A bit about me......my name is Ami and i'm married with one child who's 4 years old. He's my little soldier, he is disabled and has been through a lot the past 3 years. But he's always smiling......I'm waffling now lol
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!
    JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD

    Morning everyone!:hello:

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THOSE GETTING RESULTS TODAY!!

Haven't post for yonks, but still recognise some people! Dont get on the computer much as the kids hog it for ClubPenguin these days! and I must confess, when I get on I have been on facebook.:o

Earlier this year I went in with some neighbours on an allotment and now i've got loads of veg coming thru that I dont know what to do with!! hence popping back to good old OS for some ideas. I have frozen loads and freezer is well stocked!!

I've got two marrows I dont know what do with?? (I dont really like chutney) - Got green/runner beans coming out my ears!:rotfl:
Sweetcorn - can you freeze the cobs as they are?

This week I had a go at making caramelized onion & goats cheese tarts, first time was too much sugar, but yesterday's came out much better! confess I had a box of ready made individual pastry cases to use up, but I did get them really reduced. I got English goats cheese, but not sure whether Welsh or French is better? I shall definately make some more!

I've got loads of shallots and tomatoes to use up today, probably do a pasta sauce.

The kids are all sorted for back to school next week, shoes, new lunchboxes, uniform etc -cant believe where the time has gone - maybe I will have some time to get on the computer then!:rotfl:

Tiredmum - what an awful thing to happen, someone I knew had that happen to his car and it was a right mess! I know it's not something we should have to do these days - but would putting a CCTV camera up help get evidence?

    Enjoy your day everyone!

DS got GCSE results very proud Mum - 3A*, 5A, 2B, 2C and a D. ( posted this on wrong thread before, oops) he is off to 6th Form to do his Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Maths A level!!

It is costing me quite a lot of money, but worth it - we all like a bonus for exceeding expectations and he has raised most subjects at least a grade on schools prediction.

Good Luck and Congrats to all it is a stressful time.

    Morning everyone :hello:

Just sitting down with a coffee and a scone fresh out of the oven slathered in the strawberry and blueberry jam I made yesterday. :D
Also made 2 of D&DD's apple braids, one of which was half eaten with custard for pud last night and the other is iced and frozen.
As well as the scones this morning I have the BM on with wholemeal dough which I'll finish in the oven later.
Cleaned up the greenhouse a bit this morning and fed the window boxes.
Need to pop to Lidl in a minute to get some fruit and coffee and to the bank. Need to pay for the girls' dance classes today too.
Tea is sausage, egg, chips and mushrooms with bread and I've lifted hot smoked salmon fillets out of the freezer to make fishcakes for tommorrow (the salmon was a freebie from OH's customer)
Hoping to get out in the garden again this afternoon and then finish some knitting this evening. One bunny is fully knitted but needs assembled. Will try and post a pick when I'm done.
Parked the car at the other end of Tesco's car park yesterday and saw the hugest ripe blackberries in the hedge. Was very glad I didn't pay £2 a punnet inside. :rotfl:So looks like lots of foraging this weekend.

Take care all and good luck to all the exam resulters.
