HTC Hero Best Plan

And just out of curiosity: does the wifi count towards the 500mb data limit? If it doesn't then if you can get to a wifi spot it would make sense to use that instead of the 3G, you'll use a lot less of the allowance.
I've had my Hero for about a week now and hands down is the best phone I've had, you'll love it. Good luck with your choice!
Thanks for the suggestions! Very keen on the white one however the plan you mention is on a 24 month contract (not 18) which makes it quite abit more expensive
Or have I missed something?
ps. wifi data definitely does not count towards your allowance.0 -

There's a plan for 18 months at £29.36 per month
Can't post a link, but if you click on the HTC hero, then next to contract there's a dropdown box and you can choose 18 months0 -
Guess I didn't do enough research! I would've liked the white phone lol. I think it has that screen coating to prevent smudges doesn't it?
Also, I'm pretty sure WiFi doesn't count towards the 500mb.
Best phone I've ever had as well
I think there's a bit of confusion regarding the teflon coated back and the oleophobic screen. All colours have the smudge resistant oleophobic screen, but only the white and orange graphite hero's contain the teflon coated casing. The black and unlocked brown hero's are just smooth plastic.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -

Hmm, mine feels like it has that. Kinda like a rubbery feel to it? It doesn't seem like plastic anyway (it's different to the front of the phone).Doesn't quite equal £25 a month though (as with the mobiles.co.uk)?
Well, on mobiles.co.uk it's £30 per month, but you get 6 months half price. The way it works though, is you send a bill off every 3 months, and they give you the money back. From checking the internet before I ordered it, I saw quite a few people have reported problems with this, but I haven't tried it yet as I've only had the phone a few days now so I'm not sure.0 -

My Black G2 touch ( Tmobile branded hero) is teflon, certainly not smooth plastic like my Touch HD.0 -
Also thinking about this phone but looking to get an ipod touch thrown in as well. Couldn't decide between the Hero and Iphone then thought kill two birds with one stone.
Best deal I can find is with buymobilephone for
black G2 (tmobile branded hero)
16gb Ipod touch
Combi 30 web and walk = 700 minutes, unlimited texts and 3gb usage.
cost is £80 upfront and £34.25 monthly 18 month contract.
Anyone found anything better?0 -
They must have given all models a teflon coating for Britain, because the US ones are totally diff.
As for the screen. All Oleophobic screens will pick up fingerprints, but they are much easier to remove with wiping, and won't smudge like conventional mobile screens, hence smudge resistant.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0
