*cringe* did you have to phrase it like that??Why would you get incapacity benefit(ESA)? Is there something wrong with you? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Though it always makes me feel sad that a baby is classed as a mistake.
Yes I agree with you entirely, unfortunately too many babies are born without a father in theirs lives, and that is the sadness of it all0 -
She has a point though, a normal pregnancy is not an illness!xXMessedUpXx wrote: »*cringe* did you have to phrase it like that??0 -
I wish this lady all the luck in the world and I hope she has a healthy happy baby - a baby is a blessing.
But I must say this thread has frustrated me so much though as I work my !!!! off with three jobs working 7 days a week to get by in life and she is so brazen (apart from the 'gulp') about getting paid cash in hand, taking JSA and then asking what she is entitled to. I would give my right arm to have a baby but when I can barely afford to feed myself and my partner it would be the most selfish thing in the world.
Sorry if this offends anyone, but the benefits system in this country sucks big time. It gets screwed into the ground by people like her and then when people who really need it don't get it for whatever reason. I bet there are people reading this who are committing benefit fraud who don't give a rat's !!!. All I can say is you will get caught and I will be stood in the docks laughing at you when you do.
Again I apologise profusely if this offends but thats how I feel.0 -
Yes, i can too, i was brought up in the same sort of scenario in the 50's, if you could fiddle the system, you did. It was the culture back then in Newcastle.
Sometimes it perpetuates itself through families so no one thinks about it being wrong, until they get caught of course.
Maybe i didnt see any remorse either, but she did say she realises she was stupid.
I cant understand why she set herself up for an earbashing, she could have just missed everything out about the fiddling and just asked for the help she required.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
It was more the implying that somethings wrong with you if you're on esa. which i guess there must be to be on it but it just makes me feel somehow abnormal is all!alwaysonthego wrote: »She has a point though, a normal pregnancy is not an illness! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. but she hasn't just asked for help McKneff. She doesn't care frankly because she is now unemployed, pregnant and knows she will get paid for it.
I am so tired of the attitude of people in this country. Honestly people, where is your pride??!!0 -
Did she not say she was only working 4 hours a week and didn't actually receive any money?"I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderful."
