Did you take photographs of the paving slabs.
If the difference in height of the slabs is less than 1 inch it is unlikely the claim will succed0 -
It seems to be 'Compo Corner' here on MSE today.0

Dear lord, the rudeness of some people is astounding. Absolutely astounding.
The OP didn't ask for a diagnosis of the injuries, nor a prediction into the liklihood of her mother winning the case. I believe the question was: "I was wondering if anyone could advise on what the best compensation company would be to use after a fall?"
I'm currently using a firm called Thorneycrofts. I got knocked off my bike by a car that ran the red light. Oh, and for all you rude people, I'm not going to explain what my injuries are as they're none of your business. I decided to claim, and claim I have done. They have been very good with letters etc and keeping us up to date, and they're trying to get the most they can out of the situation. The driver of the other vehicle who ran the red light got nothing, no points, nothing despite two plain clothed policemen witnessing the incident. I've been left with a permanant disability on the other hand.
Alternatively you could read up reviews of places advertised on TV. Beware of fake reviews though.
All the best

Look, the woman was elderly and apparently fell over some badly done reinstatement/paving slabs which the contractor/local council had left in an apparently dangerous condition. She was hurt fairly badly by the fall and required hospital treatment. She has taken a long while to recover - possibly due to her age and being badly shaken/shocked by the fall as well as the broken arm.
If this was due to the contractor/council doing a poor job/leaving the area in a dangerous condition then yes, compensation is in order. When I shredded an expensive car tyre on a really poorly maintained drain cover I certainly expected the local council to cough up for a new one! Ok, so I had to start a Small Claims thing going - but they backed down and paid me. I don't agree with fatuous little compo claims - but this one sounds valid and I don't see why people have to be so nasty when the guy is just tryinbg to help his Mother.ELITE 5:2

Why would they be winding us up?
When older people fall their bones are more brittle so more likely to break.
Also when people fall, it is possible for more than one part of the body to be injured, it is not unbelievable. Maybe next time my son falls and grazes his knees and hands i should just call him a liar as you seem to think he is not being honest by having two injuries??
And if you have any injuries or illnesses, hospitals will not give chemotherapy as the immune system is weakened.
The OP came on here looking for advice, not for judgements. It is not for us to say who is lying or not, that would be decided by solicitors if it went that far.0 -

Your ignorance is showing. That's a perfectly believeable sequence of events if you know anything about older people and falls, and chemotherapy..If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
i would expect immature posts from users with very low post counts who may not know better. but i wouldnt expect it from a user with well over 1000 posts. Grow up.
95% of my posts are immature, so the chances of me growing up now are minimal.
Thank you for your concern, it has been noted.0
