The son of one of the original directors (who was also named as a director but just liked the title - didn't take on the responsibilities of the position) Said at the director's meeting that night that he wanted out, he just wanted to shut the place and walk away, leaving them all out of jobs... him and his wife included.

Was he a director AND shareholder....did he receive dividends from the company instead of/as well as salary.

Many owners appoint children (mature) as directors/shareholders as a way of extracting funds from ltd companies....which can only be extracted from profits. If co was going to the wall they may have acted illegally (technically) and maybe thats why they were worried......

My opinion is - if the new owner is a millionaire and he obviously knows the score he will either keep said 'director' on and make him work/earn his keep or boot his !!!! out of the door.....

Have you seen the film The Money Pit where Tom Hanks stands on a rug, and goes through an upstairs floor? That'll be me one day :rotfl:

I love that film - I used to live in just such a house...:rotfl:

Dont worry guys you should see the lovely mould on my bathroom ceiling - no hint of LL coming to fix it any time soon (they were going to paint over it but painter man broke his fingers and cant paint!) - you've got to laugh really - am paying £800 a month in rent and cant even get someone to paint the bathroom ceiling *rolls eyes and shake head ruefully*

It was as well as his inflated tax free salary, tax free car and the many lump sums that have been taken out and covered up with what the Millionaire's business analyst called 'creative accounting'!

His @ss is being well and truly booted out!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
