Ell, I've been stepping over this hole for about 4 years, since the kids jumped off my bed and went through the floor. We have another gorming where a radiator leaked a couple of years ago, not so important as it's in the spare room.
I'm sure he could have a go at fixing it, but it's getting him to do it. My idea of buying a sheet of metal 9summink hard and strong enough obviously), bigger than the hole to patch it didnt go down well - he just tutted and said I dont understand what's involved

Aww hun, that must be tough. Me and DH dont ever go out together either, havent done for about 10 years because we have no family to babysit. We're lucky that neither of us work 9 to 5, so we do get some time together without the kids. We never go 'out' together though.
