makes no difference i have 3 laptops and games consoles all churning out the same speed, and thats not because theyre all on at once, i individually speedtest them, except with the consoles because you cant, but when it says a demo will take 9453 minutes then i know theres a problem
Ok, you know best. Good luck with that.

Hi since saturday my aol broaband speed has been twice the speed of dial up. At around 0.12MB or 120kb. This is not my download speed but my actual ip profile. I am very confused of this as when i go to my routers homepage is i get a bandwidth of 2400/448 down/up.

Hi, I am with aol, longstanding , I am happy,BUT their speeds areerratic. Been on to them this week about it,I usespeed touch, having bother with it sticking, keep swit
    Output Power (dBm) up/down = 11.5 / 17.0 Attenuation (dB) up/down = 31.5 / 55.0
    Noise Margin (dB) up/down = 20.0 / 9.5

I have tested from both my main socket and the test one. My router is a speedtouch 580, however i dont think the problems there, although when I do ring AOL, they say it is, but theyre all reading from a script I think. Is there anything I can do to put my connection back up to 1.6meg.

Also i pay for 'up to 8meg' but i live 2.6km from the exchange. Is 1.6mb connection about right 2.6km away, because i didnt think the quality would have detoriated that bad from 8mb to 1.6.

Thanks for you help guys im at breaking point with AO Hell
HI, done something wrong above,Been on to aol myself this week, same problem, use a speedtouch, have to switch it off daily , keeps sticking.I Have been getting speeds of 1.1-4.5 it. is usualy constant of around 4-5mps.I live 1 mile from exchange but kids are off school, makes a big difference, couple of weeks and it will be back up? Been with aol ages, ok ,especially freephone; I reckon if you are around 2w hen kids are off, you are doing ok, They told me my max is 4, but get more sometimes, As they say up to, take that with pinch of salt

Kids being off school makes no difference to my connection, but I am not with AOHell.. My next door neighbour uses AOL and her connection is always falling over.

Read in to that what you will.;)
