That's just the speed the line is sitting on at the exchange, doesn't mean that you're only being provided with 120kbps.

Beware the (mis)terminology used on the internets.

But how am I going to get the speed back up, its been like this since friday night/saturday morning

    In this order..

    • Put your number in here, to double check what you should be getting.
    • Make sure your modem / router is @ master socket>>filter>>dsl cable>>router.
    • Make sure your PC is connected to your router over ethernet (not wifi).
    • Turn off any other PCs or devices which use your internet connection.
    • Close all programs on your PC.
    • Do a speed test at speedtest.net.
    • Compare the result with what you should be getting as per website.

If your download speed is >1mbps slower than what you should be getting, contact your ISP as only they can help you.

    xxxxxxxxxxx on Exchange XXXXXXXXX
Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line rate up to 1Mbps. However due to the length of your line the 1Mbps service may require an engineer visit who will, where possible, supply the broadband service. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 1.5Mbps or greater.
If you decide to place an order, a further test will be performed to confirm if your line is suitable for the service you wish to purchase.
    Thank you for your interest.

Note: If you already have a Broadband service enabled on this line and you want to switch service providers, you will need to contact both your current provider and your new provider to get your service changed over new and existing service provider to have this service transferred.

Ok, so if your ISP is providing an ADSL Max service to you, the line speed should be 1.5mbps.

On this, your download speed should be around 1mbps but in any case greater than 0.5mbps.

If it is less than 0.5mbps there may be a problem, contact your ISP.

makes no difference i have 3 laptops and games consoles all churning out the same speed, and thats not because theyre all on at once, i individually speedtest them, except with the consoles because you cant, but when it says a demo will take 9453 minutes then i know theres a problem
