    IMHO the sensors on many a £50-80 point and shoot camera won't be up to the job of processing a 10mp image in a manner I would find acceptable. I would rather have less megapixels and a better sensor in that budget.

    Having read those reviews - they actually say that these cameras are quote good as long as used in decent light & for 6x4 or 5x7 ... which is what most people will be looking to use them for ....

    One tip when buying a compact digital camera is to try and get one with a conventional viewfinder as well as the LCD screen.In very bright sunlight is often impossible to see the image on the LCD.

    I actually didn't come across any at all except for one of the Sony cameras that had a viewfinder. I think in the end i was just so pleased to find something I grabbed it with both hands before they could tell me it was just going out of stock.

    I am very pleased with it, it seems slow but i'm still fidlding round with the settings.
