Absolutely spot on.
I visit another forum where I often write very long and detailed posts to help people out. Occasionally I'll get an OP quoting other posts or commenting on what someone else has said and I wonder of they have even read my post. Getting a 'thank you' would just mean that the OP appreciated me taking the time to respond whether they wanted to comment on what I had said or not.

I got a "smack" the other week cos apparantly my sig was to big
