NIM, yes it is a bit of a nature reserve around there, and the old ICI - I've seen foxes and that. Cos they're undisturbed there aren't they?

Oh yuk Cinny, that's horrible! And I was angry at Sally for getting into a drawer I'd left open and scrasping all my clothes out onto the floor to make herself a nest! And I can't imagine how a dog's ear could look like a slice of cheese?!?

*Rushes back to work, lots to do*

    Morning all,

Been to the gym this morning. What a beautiful day outside. Shame I am at work this afternoon. At least my washing will be drying.

    Trying for another NSD today.

Fireworks and no-dead-pig-on-a-stick sounds good, must double check the date in my busy diary  which is not in the immediate vicinity ... can tyou tell I've been on the train for four hours?

If you can come, great if not, don't worry about it. Be great to see you again though - but I guess I'll see you lots with the new course! Btw are you buying needles, tape etc before the first class, or are you taking the first class to be a real 'intro' to tell us what we're doing? I found another sewing class last night, for some reason I had never thought to look at what CCAD offer!

CCAD also have loads of great short courses, but for some reason every single one of them are on a Wednesday which is a shame.

Tried to find this a couple of years ago and couldn't, must try harder, everyone raves about it!

Maybe they should change 'forbidden' to 'hidden'!? Don't think we will be able to go, down to about £35 to last the next two weeks.

That's the secind time I've seen it spelt like that this week, but never before! I thought it was just Oz?

Hope you feel better soon Wendz, and did the OU vouchers arrive Dinah?

Not yet, but they only dispatched at midnight on Tuesday, so hoping they will come today.
Cheeky sod, it is a play on my username and gingantic stature ACTUALLY!

What's wrong with my home town?

Yes but when I think of Billingham what I picture is this. I drive past Billingham House everyday, but I've never seen a sunset there (which incidentally apparently is so amazing due to the poor air quality due to the chemicals released into it!)

Need some savings account help though please!! Anybody know of any good long(ish) term savers?! Want to start a little moving out fund in an account I'm not at all tempted to touch (unlike my esaver!)

You called? Are you planning to put a set amount per month in, or drip little bits in as you have it? If you plan to put a regular amount in the best way to go is a Halifax monthly saver at 5%. (Link)The minimum payment here is £25 a month, and you can vary your direct debit amount monthly if you have more you want to save up to a maximum of £500 per month. Most pay a lump of interest at the end of a year, if you withdraw during the year usually you loose all the interest, or at least the interest for that month, so it pays not to touch it. I have an easy access saver which I pop money into throughout the month, then a few days before the direct debit is due I set it to the level I want it at for that month (or just aim to save say £100 a month and always have that amount moved over) just move it into my current acount the day before the direct debit comes out for the regular saver. Does that make any sense?!

If you don't want to commit to making a payment every month then a fixed rate bond might be the way to go. The rates here are higher if you lock the money away for two years than one year, but you can't touch it during that time so it might be quite restrictive. I don't have a bond as I feel my circumstances might change, so I want to know I can access my money if I need to, but there are good incentives not to with a monthly saver.

Knackered though, my cat decided to wake me up at 3am by bopping a dead mouse on it's head, repeatedly. It was more than disturbing. Not made any better by me frantically scrubbing anywhere the mouse might have touched at 3:15 this morning.

:rotfl::rotfl:Thats horrid! I remember when our old cat (who died two years ago) bought a mouse in but it wasnt properly dead and he let it go in the kicthen - i just woke up to the screams of my mum. I honestly thought she was being attacked :rotfl:
My cat is useless though, last year we had a mouse in our flat and she couldnt catch it and to be honest didnt seem that interested in it.

Hope your dog is feeling better soon!

Is it sad that im getting excited about the fact our HSBC CC will be below 2800 pounds tomorrow? I cant remember the last time it wasnt maxed out to its limit. I think im getting addicted to getting rid of this debt!

Not sad, if you weren't excited you'd be less likely to stick to the debt-busting.

Oh god Dinah, thanks for quoting me, look at all the spelling mistakes, yikes! I was very tired though! Interesting point about the poor air quality/sunsets! :D That will be one of my favourite random facts to quote at people!

Also, forgot to say, yes I went to enrol on the way to the station the other day - they took a particularly windswept photo of me! Do you know if there's another carpark other than the minuscule one out the front? I did ask but they were all a bit inept. There's street parking free after 6 but seems a bit of a dodgy area! Don't know what I'm gonna do re. materials ... I don't want to turn up with a full sewing kit and look like a swot! What are you thinking?

Very exciting Flower - the little milestones are brill, before you know it you'll be getting excited about being sub £2k!

Thanks for that Dinah! Will give me something to look through once I get home tonight. Knew I was asking in the right thread! :D
I've seen one with Abbey which is a reward saver at 0.10% interest, which would be fab if it was each month but I can't figure out if that's the monthly interest or yearly? On the 'info' page it says you get it paid monthly but when I went to apply it said yearly?! Oh I don't know!

Flower - Well done (for tomorrow!) about the CC. And of course it isn't sad to be excited, that's what DFW is for! :D

I am back at work today. OH bought me a chocolate snowman yesterday haha, he said it was so I could get excited about christmas.

I think Dinah is right in terms of savings accounts. You can't really get good ISA rates at this time of year. Not sure if you have one already? That Halifax one does look good, there is a similar thing with natwest as well.
