Do you know if there's another carpark other than the minuscule one out the front? I did ask but they were all a bit inept. There's street parking free after 6 but seems a bit of a dodgy area! Don't know what I'm gonna do re. materials ... I don't want to turn up with a full sewing kit and look like a swot! What are you thinking?
I'm thinking she'll tell me in the first week what we need, and what we can expect from the course, so I'm just taking a notebook! Don't want to spend money on things I don't need.
Very exciting Flower - the little milestones are brill, before you know it you'll be getting excited about being sub £2k!I've seen one with Abbey which is a reward saver at 0.10% interest, which would be fab if it was each month but I can't figure out if that's the monthly interest or yearly? On the 'info' page it says you get it paid monthly but when I went to apply it said yearly?! Oh I don't know!
That's annual, so you'd be getting basically under 0.01% a month - and 0.1% interest is still terrible even if that was per month! That would only be 1.2% per year, which is about 1/3 the rate of a good payer. Savings accounts aren't worth looking at if they are earning under 3%, the bank is counting on people being too lazy or uneducated to know that that rate is terrible. What can I say except - Don't get that account! It really, really isn't that hard to have accounts with different places, especially since you don't want to be able to have instant access to your money.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Well that's me told!
I've printed off the Halifax monthly saver details along with others to look at tonight. Will do a spreadsheet thingy to see how much a could afford a month.

I just get scared by tales of other banks! Tell myself it's safer to stick with Abbey cause I'm a wuss
Flower - Your OH sounds like a bit of a christmas-grump! Me and OH almost have our Christmas plannedJust need to figure out splitting time between my house and his, and a date to go see my Uncle and Uncle in December and I think that's it!

I got shouted at by OH when he came home from work to find me making christmas cards at the weekend
, and before i even had chance to say anything his first words to me were 'no we are talking about our plans for christmas - not unil at least november' - thats me well and truely told :rotfl:
Doesn't mean you can't plan for Christmas though, just because he doesn't want to be told what you're doing until November
Good idea Dinah about the notebook, I'll do the sameStill haven't tried out the antique sewing machine...

Do you not use internet banking Cinny? And to be fair the very vast majority of tales from other banks concern debt, not savings. They tend to be lovely when you're giving them money!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Whe it actually gets to christmas hes like a big kid, but he doesnt like to even start thinking about it until its just round the corner. Last year i ended up doing the christmas shopping by myself because he kept saying it was to soon :rolleyes:Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Doesn't mean you can't plan for Christmas though, just because he doesn't want to be told what you're doing until November

So bit of money making news. I've found myself loosing pace recently, and our money in has been down accordingly. I have now started Dooyoo-ing again, and am aiming for 3 reviews a day on both mine and NIMs account at lunchtime at work (or when there is nothing to do!). I'm also trying to remember to onepoll. NIM is trying to get into the bingoport loop, and is aiming to do the 10 posts per day on both accounts (although we're still confused by the 'playing through' concept). He is also going to try to do surveys on his lunchbreak at work.
If we can get this lot going again then the way we have structured it should take very little time on an evening (just the bingoport and any remaining reviews really), but should hugely up the money/amazon vouchers we have coming in. This leaves the evenings free for studying/ebaying/having some free time etc. We're going to try to build a stash of amazon vouchers which we can use for buying things for the newhouse if we ever get there!
One of mums colleagues has offered us a 26" tv as she is getting a flat screen, which is nice of her. So that will be going in the shed for the new house.
I have had a realisation about the wedding date though. We are aiming for a years time, but as well as the money worries I have been told I need braces asap. I refuse to have braces at my wedding, so I'm holding off worrying about a date until I have seen the orthodontist and have a better idea of if I need fixed braces, and how long I will need them for. Really, really don't want the wedding to be more than 18 months away though.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

What about those clear ones though? You can hardly see them? Or is the way you'd feel?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Yeah it's the fact I'd feel like a child, and 'hardly' see them isn't good enough for my wedding photos! I'm kind of hoping he says I will have removable ones so I can just take them out for the day.
I don't know, I guess I'll know more when I get an appointment with him or I get the braces and know how they look.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Good luck with the new targets for money making. I only manage about three reviews a week normally so that would be good if you managed three a day! I am redeeming from there in a couple of days yay.
What is it that confuses you about the playing through? I can maybe help?0
