We have traded in all our clubcard vouchers for open university vouchers. NIM is doing two courses, the first part of the Statistics and Computing degree. If he decides not to go further than these two courses then it is a certificate in its own right, so no harm done really! Since we used clubcard vouchers for most of it, we only need to pay about £180 to settle the balance. Just hope the vouchers arrive by Friday which is the final day for registration.
Does anyone know the link to the page with the current clubcard points loopholes on?
Thats a really good idea, and i agree definatly deserves a :money:
Sorry dont know the link for the clubcard loopholes.
Think i would be lucky if i got a £5 voucher off tesco :rotfl: we dont have one near us and only really go there if we are passing and need petrol or if we're visiting my parents and stop to get some food bits. Somehow cant see them opening a tescos here either as theres already about 10 supermarkets within a 5 mile radius!!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Thankfully we hit a wall
God, never expected to hear this sentence!! Glad you're both okay Cinny, sounds scary!
Ditto what Tete, Flower and Dinah say about the house - it's very exciting, but it is a big commitment and I hate to play the age card, but you've got years ahead of you to move in with OH and you can afford to wait until he's cleared his debt and your finances are more stable - at the same time, only you can decide if now is the right time
Exciting news about the OU course Dinah - I would never have known you could use clubcard vouchers! Hope they come in time *fingers crossed*
I feel pretty much the same about wedding fairs; pretty uninspiring - all you end up with is a bagful of business card and not enough free samples!!
Hope your dinner is good tonight, enjoy the rest of your weekends ladiesLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Thats a really good deal on the open university course, sure it will be useful to NIM. I wish I had a tesco near me, has good deals!0

Thanks Girls! OH is playing hero atm because he put his arm across me to hold me back, my mum stole his thunder by saying she does that to her handbag if she brakes sharply! :rotfl:
The house is just one of the companies houses, so would only be £200 a month rent - although talking it over with my Dad tonight and they might be selling the house instead. I completely get what you all mean though, there's no way I'd move out with *just* enough to cover the bills.
That's fab about the clubcard vouchers Dinah! How long will the courses take for him to do? Is it just a year? Hope you enjoyed the meal!
Tete - that books looks pretty from the outside! OH wants to see District9, you liking it has kind of warmed me to the idea of seeing it. Thought it would be an uber boy movie!
Hope everyone enjoys the last bit of the weekend - the weather has been oddly sunny!0 -

Bless him! I remember about 3 years ago when we had an accident in OHs car, he tried playing the hero about how his automatic reaction had been to protect me. When we got back to his house, his mum just shouted at him for putting me in that situation in the first place :rotfl: even though it wasnt his fault :rotfl:
Wow, i would love to be able to rent a house for £200 a month!!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Don't even know where Worsall is, thought it was near Birmingham somewhere?! Let me know what it's like, OH and I love a bit of good pub grub!

The degree would be three years, but if he just does the two modules for the certificate then it will be done by Febuary.

Good morning all. How are we all feeling on this dynamic monday morning?
Today I need to go to the bank and put the last £150 of the Ireland money in the bank, and then this evening trasnfer this plus another £50 onto the credit card (paying off the ring, will have £400 left to pay off, hoping to do this by the end of the month).
NIM has said we should do the £10 a day challenge again this month, I had kind of cried off as I think we're going to have so much on, but his degree doesn't start until October, so we're going to have a big push on the ebay front this month try to get as much of that listed as possible.
Today I also need to make a list of venues we could possibly hold our wedding at, and NIM is going to call them all to make appointments to look around. From this hopefully we'll get a better idea of date, price, timescale, location and all that jazz. Still no mention from his dad about if there will be a contribution, so we're just going to continue planning as though there isn't. In order to get the house deposit together as well as the wedding this might mean we have to have it early 2011 rather than September 2010 but I guess we can live with that if we have to. February always has snow around my birthday, could be fun having a chilly wedding???Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Morning,
You might as well try for the ten pounds a day challenge. I do the five pounds a day one but have never hit target yet.
Sounds like the wedding planning will be in full swing soon. Thats a good idea to start looking and get an idea of how much it will cost and what you get for your money etc.0 -
Morning all,
I'm feeling pretty swamped this week to be honestSooo much to do and am stuck in stupid-waste-of-time-meetings most of the week, go to go down to Nottingham tomorrow and am fearing for my life! Trying for a NSD today, just going to go to the bank at lunchtime and put some money in savings. Need to get back on the food wagon too as haven't lost anything again this week. 5lbs to go to target and just over three weeks to do it! Currently warming my hands on my coffee cup, freeeezing in here today!
Wedding plans sound like they're kicking into gear. I think that's a good idea about planning as though you're paying for it yourself, then if NIM's dad does give you some money you can out it in the house deposit fund! It's scary, I wouldn't even know where to start!
I also want to do a bit of ebaying this month, might take a few photies and write descriptions at the weekend as OH's away at uni. Also know what I'm doing for my crimble cards so need to order a few bits off ebay for them, hopefully my design is less fiddly and time consuming that last time around!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Snow on a wedding would be beautiful!! You might even get hit by an early spring going on how the seasons have been the past few years. Sounds exciting about going to look around places though!
Good luck with the ebaying too, I'm surprised you still have things left to sell!
Got a text from OH this morning to say his brother has sunk to an all new low and is now stealing from the change pot we keep at his house  I've never had much respect for him but I never thought he'd go as low as to steal from his own brother. Ugh!
I've been looking at holidays for next year though. Found one to Austria for 10 days next Sept, goes to Salzburg too so I'll be able to Von Trapp it!0
