Yay to getting the ring! I understand the feeling that it's a lot of money to just sit there and look nice but you'll wear it forever so if you cost it by wear it works out as very good value!

When its put like that, Birdie has got it right!! Very good value when you put it like that. I agree Birdie i would be scared having something that expensive! Think i would check it about 1000 times a day!

OHs mum is going to come up with me in a minute so we can both hairdry the bed :rotfl: if its not dry i'll have to sleep on the sofa in our room and OH will have to sleep in his brothers room tonight - give him an even bigger reason to be in a bad mood

How are you supposed to find china?! Mum wants to get us some of 'our' china for an engagement present, it all looks so naff. The only set I kind of like is £86 per plate!!!!!!

Hey I'm in the china business I could help you out. What kind of style / price range are you after? This is my china - not the best pic.

Also there is a lot of beautiful vintage china as I know you like that look.

Let me know and I can pm you a few links x

Very nervous now, off to Birmingham tomorrow to pick up our trade stand and then off to Paris. Everything went terribly on Friday and we will be missing loads of products I think, and catalogues and some other stuff. Looking forward to getting September over as we have got another trade show and a launch event as part of London Design Festival.

On the plus side I do get to wear my nice new dresses on the stand, even if it will be mind-numbingly tedious. OH is nearly finished his big job too, so will be back to sleeping (think he has had about 10 hours this week in total). Roll on October... see you ladies on the 11th!

Wonder how Dinah is doing against her future MIL. Hoepfully she has survived and NIM has protected her honour.

Hi Lara you're a star! Your china is really really pretty, but I think its a bit modern for what I'm after. That said I have no idea what I'm really after so just throw a few pretty things at me and I'll see what sticks!

Thanks for the additional congrats guys!

Wow, the thread really goes dead when I go away.

So NIMs mum has transformed from just mean into the devil incarnate. I have no intention of seeing her again until she grows up and treats me like a human being rather than something she trod in.

Been up since 3am today, so if I'm not very chatty, I'm sleeping. Poor NIM, hes back at work.

Oh, and guess what, the ring has to go back AGAIN! It was making my finger swell up, turns out they gave us an I 1/2 rather than a J 1/2!!!!

  • Morning everyone, ugh, can tell it's September - manic traffic and squillions of emails, I don't want to be at work! :( Had a lovely day yesterday - went to the farm and then had an impromptu barbecue because the weather was nice, really felt like the end of summer though. Races were brill fun on Friday, got quite into it and finished the night £12 up, and made the most of the free wine :D

Dinah, yay to having the ring but booo to it not fitting! Shame to hear NIM's mum's still being a twit but I think you're doing the right thing by avoiding her - you don't need to be around people who make you unhappy. Hope the weekend was a good one apart from her.

Lara that china is lovely, I do like a nice tree! Have fun in Paris and don't work too hard!

Flower, did you get the bed dry in the end?!

Birdie, hope things aren't too stressful for you today. At least it's only a four-day week!
