Yep really looking forward to it - although the two nights at the travelodge seem to be seperate bookings.... really hope we don't have to change room halfway through!
My payday today, haven't had time to log on and see what they've given me yet though! Well thats a lie, I know it from my payslip, but I still like to log on and see how in credit I am for even this short amount of time!
I would not expect them to move you because you have booked for more than 1 night. They will know that it is the same person with multiple bookings. If your worried phone the travelodge direct. I did this for my dad and they noted that he was staying for 4 nights and had multiple references and didn't want to be moved.0 -
Oooh yes whats a good deal in central Edinburgh CMD? We're staying up on Belford Road (or thereabouts) I think it is, so fairly central, but any hidden gems would be greatly appreciated.
Also things to do, any must sees/must misses?
Defo walk up to the castle to see the views but unless you are a fan of castles (quite stuffy inside) I wouldn't bother paying to go in. The city tour is really good (having been on it 3 times with visitors!) and the dungeon is also really good.
Arthurs Seat is a lovely attraction and if you walk up to it and keep going you end up at a lovely pub in Duddingston called The Sheeps Heid.
Down by the water of Leith is my favourite part of Edinburgh, and is easy to get to by the number 22 bus. Take the 22 bus George Street (it will say Ocean Terminal which is nice shopping centre) and ask the driver to let you off at The Shore. The Kings Wark, The Shore Bar etc etc are all lovely pubs along there with nice roaring fires and hearty grub.
Also cheack out Monster Mash
http://www.monstermashcafe.co.uk/about.html
They serve retro dinners such as shepherds pie and lovely milkshakes!!!
Pub wise - I am a fan of the roaring fire type place so anywhere along the shore is nice. There are also some pubs along The Royal Mile that have nice fires and are cosy, as are some on Cockburn Street. If you want more clubby type pubs let me know & I can supply them too!
Foodwise - I think I have told you a few pubs that are good but there are some restaurants along Rose Street, such as Dirty Dicks - that are really nice and hearty.
If you like a specific type food let me know and I can recommend. The Last Drop pub in Grassmarket is nice too!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

You lucky lady!
Dinah - My brother went to Edinburgh not long since and did the Ghost Tour that takes you through all the under ground tunnels, he said he'd reccomend it to anyone. Hope you have fun!!0 -
Dinah,
Just found this on the travelodge website:
"I have multiple confirmation numbers, can I stay in the same room?
If you have booked the same room type for each reservation then it should be possible to keep the same room. I would suggest contacting the hotel to advise them of the request. All numbers can be found on the Hotel Information page - choose from the dropdown below. Alternatively you can just ask the hotel when you check in"0 -
Ooh, thanks for that post CMD, I'll save it for February!
Morning Poolie, how's the back?
I've never been to Sheffield Cinny but OH has to go all the way there for a 30 min interview for uni so we thought we'd make a day of it! I'm all for seeing new places!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Thanks for asking Tete. It just takes a while to get moving on a morning. Once I am going it is fine (as long as i don't stop for long). Not had any painkillers yet but thinking 1 might be an idea jsut to dumb the pain.0

Sounds like how I feel after I've been walking - can't get out of bed, but once I'm up and about I'm ok, then if I sit too long at work I seize up again!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Tete - Sheffield City centre is really nice! You should enjoy it.
Poolie - Your back doesn't sound too chipper! Hope you're feeling better soon, back pain has to be the worst.0 -
