I am glad you are getting strength from the passage Dinah.
Is there one for a husband?
I don't like the bit about getting up in the dark to prepare food for the family etc. I think the passage expects women to be everything to everyone.
I agree that women are very resilient and resourceful, but myself and OH are very much an equal team, and he is just as much a homemaker as me. There is no way I could achieve all the things on that list, but OH likes my quirks and would hate if I was continuously striving for all the things on the list. Where is the time then for fun with your family?
My philosophy in life is that I try to be the best that I can everyday, but sometimes I fail, and I learn from this, and move on.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi Dinah and everyone else on the thread! :hello:
I think I may have posted on your last thread before I left the UK and seeing you on another thread I'm on has reminded me to come back and find out just how you managed such an impressive feat (that's clearing the debt not bagging NIM, although also clearly impressive as he sounds LUVVERLY!)
I've also just recently got engaged and, although we sort of have our own house, I don't actually own it so I'm also looking to save up the equivalent of a deposit. The thing is, I'm currently voluntary teaching in Nepal so have no income :rotfl: I'd like to use this time to find out the best ways to maximise my time and money when I get home so I can reach my savings goals too.
Anyway, wishing you and everyone else the best of luck! :T

Hi Bails thanks for popping in. Yes read it like a novel, start at the very beginning, go through diary one, then two, then this is three. One is the most useful for the money making ideas and debt busting, after that we ramble on a bit and it becomes more like a normal diary I think!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Darn it Dinah, I've only read 3 pages and already have a tear in my eye. What comes across is what a determined and upbeat person you are, despite having a mountain to climb. You are even more of an inspiration now, thankyou! This is what I love about MSE more than anything, the incredible people you meet on here x
Gotta dash, several thousand more pages to read...:DThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

I agree with Dinah. What you are doing is amazing Bails
I hope to do some voluntary work in South America in a few years. I want to bring my child/children with me. OH has also agreed to come with me. I believe we will do but it is easy to talk and not do anything.

Bails - that is great to hear about you volunteering, bet it really feels good to be doing something to help.
Dinah - It really is amazing how far you have come, we really need someone to come and remind us every now and then.
I have spent a very productive morning organising for contractors to take us for lunch yay.0 -
