No woman should have that stress when they are pregnant :(

I'm glad my OH is such a responsible, mature fella.

    I completely agree.

I know my OH isnt on a fantastic wage but i know that he would provide for me, and should we find ourselves in a similar situation he would provide for his family. I also know he would be too proud to sit on his bum living off other people.

He felt demoralised enough when we got £15 a week housing benefit.

My Uncle tiddles me off with his Benefits, he get money for being depressed and as he has knee problems (mainly because he's a tubby-wubby) his partner gets paid for being his 'carer'
Drives me batty as he calls up all the time asking to speak to my mum and when I say she's at work he's like 'AGAIN?!' it's like, 'Yes Uncle, there's this weird new craze where people actually work for money.' His life hasn't been affected at all by the recession, he knows full well our family are stuggling but is always basically bragging about all the new bits he's bought. It's hard to not snap at him, and I know it's mean, but all I think is 'Ha! At least I can leave the house and don't have rats for friends!'

I feel sorry for your friends Wife CMD :( Must be an awful situation to be in. Does make me kind of glad I know OH would do anything to support us if we had an 'happy mistake' though.

My plans for tonight are very very slowly slipping away! Still no sign of my Dad, he's out training so lord knows what time he'll be back. Tum-te-Tum. Atleast I have the Martin Lewis game to keep me entertained!

:rotfl::rotfl:Was exactly the words i was looking for, was looking for a nice way to put it lol.

OHs sister is on incapacity benefits for 'depression'. I know im no expert but honestly she is she a big attention seeker theres nothing wrong with her. She has no intention of ever working, and shes only 22. Its quite sad that shes happy to live her life like that. She knows that when she wants to move out her mum and dads she could get benefits to pay for everything

My plans for the next 45 minutes involve refreshing the ebay page hoping the total goes up :rotfl:

I've just been taking a look at the thread that's got everyone all riled up - I see why! It's got to be a wind up, right? I am outraged, but bemused and I don't know whether I should be sympathetic if it IS real as she's clearly on another planet! Oh, and doesn't have any morals...

Cinny, have a nice evening with Martin!

I've had a nice busy day at work helping out with a mailing - nice and mindless :)

I'm all for the chart idea, Dinah - I fancy the idea of being shamed into skinniness! Fingers crossed for the weigh in tomorrow morning :)

    Hi Cinny,

Yes, I feel very sad for her as deep down he is a lovely person, and will be a great Dad but he won't step up to the mark when it comes to work.

I feel like saying something as she confided in me, but then I don't really think it is my place and I think it is something she needs to discuss with him herself.

1st year - Was working driving cars at Hartlepool docks for £3.00 per hour. (usually 4 hours guaranteed work) and local council stuff.
Working as hall assistant - which involves nights but gave free accomodation. 3rd and 4th year. Also working in the town in a gents outfitters (a kilt shop) 2 afternoons and weekend in second year and then just weekends in 3rd and 4th.

    MSc - Caledonian University 2003 - 2005
Still at the kilt shop in stirling on a weekend and during the summer months communiting. Good for sleeping 15 minutes after work. Was on £3.75 at the end of my time with £0.25 rises each year. Also running 1 department, supporting 2 others.

Student Loans - Data Entry - September 2005
Gave up kilt shop for 1 month temp job - £13.5k

Student Loans - Data Entry - September till December 2005
    Kept on contract extension

    Student Loans - Application processor - December 2005 - April 2006
Same company different department different job

    Student Loans - Customer Advisor - April 2006 - April 2007
Same department as abover just CA role - £15K

Student Loans - Network Operations Centre April 2007 - January 2009
Was meant to be for 9 months but they kept me. Ended up leaving on £22.3K
Had taken professional qualification courses - 1 mandatory and 2 optional. Did other techincal courses as well.

Blackberry - Incident Coordinator - Jan 09 till present
Loving new job and thinking about 3rd optional course in professional qualification set - would have to pay for myself. Also a list of benefits my arm long including medical, dental, eye and pension. £42.5K

I have worked to get here over 10 years and I am happy I did all the other jobs as it has certainly given me the view of life and I like mine the way it is now.
