Out of interest I just played about with the entitled to calculator. If I stopped working when we had a child I would be entitled to £129 per week between all the different benefits. We'd also be saving £150 per month in petrol. We put such an amount into savings at the moment, if we stopped that we'd only be about £150 a month short to maintain our current lifestyle. Only I'd be at home raising our child and taking care of the house rather than permenantly at work, on the way to work, or on the way back from work. Thats mental.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I just read that thread too Dinah! I can't believe it, but it's just how things go. Had to laugh at your Tory comment though!
Wendz - Yay to being a Godmother! I have to say, things certainly are all pointing in one direction for your birthday!0 -
That is annoying, some people just don't appreciate what they have. You can't really argue about pay and stuff in the current climate!0

Just read the thread, my heart really bleeds for her that she 'only' takes home £1400 and she has to pay all her bills with that! Makes you sick really.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0

That is crazy Dinah! Do you think you will end up staying at home when you become a Mum?0

Its always been our hope that I can stay home and raise our children, but we didn't think we could realistically afford it. But I had never considered benefits. That post has got me so angry, if a healthy 19 year old can aponge so badly, then I am starting to see nothing wrong with some honest council tax benifit and tax credits so I can raise our children instead of putting them in childcare. ACTUALLY, childcare would cost us at least £500 a month anyway, so we'd be better off for me not to work!!!!!!!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I dont see anything wrong with claiming what your entitled to. When we were in our old flat we got £7 a week council tax benefits and £15 a week housing benefits. But how on earth did that girl at 19 years old manage to get £1400 a month?!!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0

The cost of childcare is rediculous, would be good if you do the childminding.
What is the post called? Want to see what this girl is moaning about.0 -
