  • CMD - Your sad news is heart breaking I can't stop thinking about her. My sister lost a baby at 18 weeks, I lost one at 11 weeks and it was hard to get through. Although it could not have been as bad for my sister and your cousin as they both will have had to go into labour and deliver as this is the best way to protect the womb for further children.

I will be pray for her and the little one. Have they named him?

    Thanks Roomontheend

They had the funeral and named him. It is just how she is coping now that worries me :( Her OH has been so womderful throughout it all though so she will get through it.

Just had some lovely news to cheer me up though. A really close friend of mine had a little girl last night.

Thats good news CMD. Its very, very sad for your cousin but usually there is a reason these things happen, the baby wasn't developing properly and the body recognises that, that kind of thing.

Thanks for that Birdie its really helpful of you. I've heard of that place but last time I googled I came up with a village hall! The hall did weddings too but I really couldn't see what all the fuss was about! I now have 6 places added to my list we need to go and see, all added since the list was 'finished'. Last night I had a freak out we won't find anywhere as nice as Wynyard, but that has better customer service, in our price range and will end up getting married in a rec center.... this freak out continued well into my nightmares.

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. I am sitting on the sofa with the Day Off!!!! Yippeeee! All the shows and events are finished, just a little bit of packing down to be done tomorrow, but I'm not in charge, thank goodness.

Seems like lots has been going on here, those venues look lovely Dinah. CMD I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. One of my relatives also had a miscarriage recently and we are all very sad for her. I am also finding it hard to know what to say.

Cinny - how brilliant about the flat, you must be really excited.

On Tuesday I got to enroll at uni, yippeee! How nice to finally begin, as I have been talking about it with you all since January.

Just going to be chilling out today, my friend is having a barbecue so I don't even have to cook!

    Best to all

the woman I was speaking to (who scarily looked like Tete, I had to look twice! LOL!)

Hehe, I saw a girl on a night out in York who was the double of you actually - could have been your 30-year-old sister, I was on the verge of going over to ask!

Hope everyone's had a nice weekend, lovely news about the baby girl CMD :) Good luck for Tuesday Lara!! And how did the boot sale go Wendz??

Dinah I can't believe you had over a grand stashed away without realising - no wonder you've been struggling! £300-odd will be paid off in no time. So does NIM take over post budget-rejig?

Thanks Tinkerbel for the pattern clarification, I'm sure it'll be fine - I'm not averse to wearing short skirts anyway :D Went and got a few bits on Saturday for the sewing class but forgot to take my list so forgot a few things, like chalk and erm a PATTERN  but got some scissors and a bit of fabric for practising.

Went up Roseberry Topping today (the scene of 'the' proposal for non-northerners) - I can definitely see why NIM didn't ask at the top, it's like Oxford Circus up there on a nice day - a big troupe or pre-teens from a dance school up there today along with a load of blokes from some rambling group, a load of kids shouting "COME ON MAM YOU CAN DO IT!!" over and over and over so that I wanted to go and push their noisy little brat features over the edge, and a man dressed as Father Christmas muttering something about drunken bets hehe.

Nothing else to report from Tete Land, meal out for Granny's 75th last night was lovely and my Guinness Chocolate cake went down really well with all the rellies so I was pleased with that. Gonna try and do a few reviews and a bit of turbolisting now... wish me luck..

Glad you had a nice weekend Tete. Bootsale went OK , didn't make much though only £30 quid profit and had to share that with sister and Mum although I got half. Got rid of a few bits though and took some clothes and books to charity boxes at sainsburys as well so at least my old room at my Mums is looking a lot clearer. She wants to turn it into a guestroom so am trying to clear as much out as I can.
  • Ah well, £15's not to be sniffed at and I guess the clearing was the main objective so you must feel better about that!

Yep it's his baby now, he seems really on the ball with it actually, sorted out stuff I've been ignoring for ages!

I can't find dark tailors chalk anywhere! I went and got some samples and some thread today, and it cost me over £20 I was staggered!
Went to see another venue today. Same price as Wynyard but in the same league as some of the budget options, not impressed really! My parents got married there but in the old hall, not the new extension which is where they now so the weddings.

We did have the best cake ever though. Chocolate with white chocolate and cointreau cream filling, MMmmmmmmm

I'm lost for words to be honest Cinny thats an insane ammount!!! How much of that was holiday?

£360 was the holiday. £150 for the Uggs (I know the price is insane but I've spent years lusting after a pair!) and £70 on new clothes. It was all budgeted for though, so I'm not feeling too guilty!

The new budget sounds great Dinah, £50 a week should not be a problem. Wow at all the money you managed to find though!

Birdie - I love the look of those invites! Sounds like a fun day with your friend, I love the thought of just filling yourself up on free cake. Yumm!

Sounds like you've all had pretty fun weekends - Congrats to your friend too CMD! Way too much to comment on. I tried doing a multi quote but it properly killed my laptop :o It's ruddy useless.

    £70 on new clothes

So what did you get then? Linkies? :D

(This is so that I can do clothes lusting through you ... here's what I spent £63 on yesterday, it is very warm though :o)
