Hmm, that's a problem I have with shop-bought clothes and I was hoping making my own might erradicate it. Maybe they'll show us how to scale patterns up or down according to our size? It's going to cost me a bomb in fabric isn't it?!

You should be fine Tete, I think on most patterns where it is possible there are lenthening and shortening lines, where you cut the pattern piece along the line, and stick in your own piece of paper to make it the right length and then just connect the two real pieces with a line and cut down it. (I really hope that made sense I'm sorry!!):o

I'll take pictures (if it's nice!) My Dad was looking over it this morning and is worried because it says 'Cash Offers' it might not be mortgageable? But he says to book a viewing for next week and he'll come with me. Eee!

I love that stags head Birdie! Would make a nice statement without being too in your face.

What's everyone up to today? OH has left for work so I've got a day to myself! Tempted to go and buy some of those Thorntons Chocolate boxes they have on offer to put away for Christmas. But I need to buy 4 and don't want to look like a fatty... :D

I knew someone would back me up re: the stag's head! I showed the picture to OH and he said, 'Cool! It's like Harry's patronus, we need it!', I really have created a Potter monster! LOL!

It's good that your Dad's interested in the flat too Cinny! Whoop!

I'm off to a wedding fair this afternoon in Harrogate at the conference centre, I think it's going to be quite big so it should be fun, I hope there are lots of freebies going!

OH and I have just had our regular Saturday morning breakfast boogie to some fun music- the neighbours must expect to hear us dancing about at 9am every Saturday now!

Yay for the Stags head! I think I could put up with a Harry Potter obsessed OH if it meant getting a Stags Head thingy.

Hope you have a nice trip Wendz (:

Just came on to change my sig. Paid for the rest of the holiday and my savings look so sad! Off to update my spreadsheets!
  • CMD - Your sad news is heart breaking I can't stop thinking about her. My sister lost a baby at 18 weeks, I lost one at 11 weeks and it was hard to get through. Although it could not have been as bad for my sister and your cousin as they both will have had to go into labour and deliver as this is the best way to protect the womb for further children.

I will be pray for her and the little one. Have they named him?

    Evening!

I don't know, the one day I have to knatter on here as much as I fancy and you all jump ship!

With the holiday, and caving and buying some Ugg boots and maybe some clothes from topshop I've spent a stomach churning £580 today.

Just waiting for OH to get back from work and we're off to the Cinema :3 hope everyone has a nice Saturday night, and full-Sunday! x

I'm lost for words to be honest Cinny thats an insane ammount!!! How much of that was holiday?

We rearranged the fiances today, and now only have £317 of debt left to pay off (not bad going huh, checking out old accounts and streamlining things found us £1475, without having to touch the house savings or teeny wedding fund. Should have the last £317 paid off in a couple of weeks. Don't know what kind of DFW I consider myself to be to find that amount just lying about in accounts two of which I hadn't even realised I had money in!!!

We've also drastically altered our budget, it now includes both regular savers, budgets for uni fees and books, clothes, and buying stuff for the new house. Our 'spends' pot has been reduced, but given ususally we use that for clothes and stuff for the house, I'm not too concerned. We now have £50 a week roughly between us, which technically should be plenty. That said when we get our own house I wouldn't want things to be so tight.

Has your OH stopped being a madam yet Cinny?!

Wow Cinny that is a lot!

Dinah - well done on finding all the money, wish I could find all that would be able to pay most my debts off! The new spends thing sounds a good idea especially if you aren't including clothes etc, hope it works!

I am doing a carboot in the morning so will probably be off to bed soon as have to get up early.

Hi! The wedding fair was pretty good and we got in for free as my friend and I are both brides to be so that was bargainous! Got 3 little boxes of chocolates from various stalls and I pretended to be terribly interested in a venue in Doncaster so I could get a free Moulton Brown mini shower gel! We had too much free cake so we didn't go for lunch which is disappointing but good as it saved some money! I did spend far too much in Next when we went into Harrogate after the fair... on clothes for OH, I didn't get anything for myself! And how does he thank me... by ditching me to go out with his mates! He thought I'd be out so made plans (despite telling me all week he wanted to stay in tonight!) so looked a bit sheepish when I said I was staying in! I gave him a good pouty sulk so hopefully he'll try to make it up to me tomorrow!

At the wedding fair I saw these invites, they're really striking and personal as they use your own photo but for £2.80 each I think I'm going to have to make them myself! Any idea what kind of acetate I need to print photos onto to get the nice semi transparent finish?!

Oooh, and I saw a nice venue for Dinah and NIM! It's called Rockcliffe Hall and it is in Hurworth, so not too far away! I signed up for the e-mail update thing thinking of you as the woman I was speaking to (who scarily looked like Tete, I had to look twice! LOL!) said that there is a wedding fair soon but it is invite only, oddly so I thought I'd get the invite and send it on! Share the wealth and all that! And NIM's Mum should approve as it looks like the golf club is mega! ;)
