Thanks for all the replies, my decision has been made for me. Apparently my aunt(her mum) said (not in a nasty way) that she hoped I wouldn't be going. Have to say that I agree.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Aww, CMD. But we all know what she means by it
I think it would be a very distressing experience for you too though and that's something you could do without at the minute.

Yeah I defo think it is the right thing to do. I agree with you that it is very personal and I wouldn't want lots of people there if it was me. And especially not someone who was 3 weeks behind me in pregnancy.

CMD, it's such an impossibly sad situation, but I feel you'd be right not to go for her, and for you too. A friend of my mum had two pregnant daughters, but one of them lost the baby in labour; it's just been so awful for the whole family as they can't grieve properly. They are still trying to be optimistic and be supportive of her sister, who is terrified about going into labour as well as heartbroken about her sister's loss when it should be a happy time for both of them. I guess this is why family's so important.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380

That is a terrible situation as well
I just feel useless as I am not close enough to her to ring her up to say sorry but would like her to know I am thinking about her.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Why not send her a letter CMD? You'll be able to put down all your thoughts and she can read it if she feels strong enoug or put it aside if she doesn't?

A letter is a good idea. I might do that after a few weeks when it isn't so raw. Was also thinking of maybe getting a star named after him, but I didn't know if this would be appropriate.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I think that's a very sweet idea, but I can't even imagine how they must be feeling - it might be that they need to keep their grieving quite private and not have other people who didn't even know their baby making a fuss. It's a very hard one to judge, but I think a card or letter would be enough.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
I think I will go with just a card or a letter. I will wait a few weeks though, rather than straight away.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
