If you had read my earlier post (and perhaps even understood it), I stated that my daughters had the right to decide what they did with their own bodies and, as they had chosen to have their ears pierced (which contrary to your suggestion, does not result in sexual dysfunction, maternal/child mortality, incontinence, and rejection by husband and family in the same way as the barbaric practice of FGM) - it was their right to do so.
.
At no point did I compare piercing to genital mutilation, maybe you're the one who needs to read back. Oh and you are the one who felt the need to include an argument for genital mutitation in your post, not me.
Also, would you agree to anything your children wanted to do with their bodies at 6 years old then? Underage sex, tattoos, scarification etc?! Its not a valid argument that it was their choice, they needed your consent and couldn't have wondered into the piercing place by themselves, therefore it was YOUR choice, not theirs.
Personally I'm not particularly against piercings but think they look awful on babies and young children, so chavvy, yuck! Oh well I suppose they have to get them pierced young so they can start wearing all that gold jewellery chavs love so much.Started Comping 25th September 2013.
