Cheaper car insurance for 19 yr old male

Hi,
Can anybody suggest any car insurers who may be cheaper for young male drivers who have just recently passed test and I also have pass plus?

I would like to get the insurance in my own name so I can build up some no claims bonus. I know I can add a parent as an additional driver. Does anyone have any recent similar experience?

Thanks

What are you being quoted? I would have thought +/- £2k would be your quote.

Yes your right, about 2k and more are the quotes I'm getting but I am really shocked because I am not a boy racer or anything:eek:

They don't know your not a boy racer that's the problem, after 1 yr you may have some evidence that you are not a boy racer. The only thing you can really change is the car. I went for a 22 yr old Renault 5 when I was young that seemed to convince them that I was not a boy racer and I went for third party only, for something a bit newer try a Deawoo Matiz..
  • try the brokers Adrian Flux , worked for me in the past

When I started driving I had a little 1.1 2000 Peugeot 106. I went with direct line, and payments were £130 per month!

Debt so far: Natwest Overdraft -
    [STRIKE]£1250[/STRIKE] £0, Barclays Overdraft - £1500
    , Abbey Overdraft -
    [STRIKE]£750[/STRIKE] £0, Car finance - £3000 :(

okay thanks guys, I guess I'm just going to have to try and get through the first year in the hope that it will go down the next year.
I hate these car insurance companies, it's disgusting what they charge:mad:

try CIS - Co-operative Insurance Services, they certainly used to target young drivers in small-engined cars, figuring they'd keep them for years...

Kwik-Fit worked out cheapest for my daughter in her first year.
  • A friend tells me that they have just had their 17 year-old provisional licence holding daughter insured fully-comp on her runaround (Kia or something) for £500 with Quinn Direct. Policy in her own name and everything.

When you ask for a quote, what car are you saying you wish to insure?
