Hola PaDders!!
The total for Monday 19 October is £817.68
Keep up the good work!0 -
Evening All,
PaD for me today of £10
I think I might count my money pig tonight and I'm hoping that there will be something to pay in the bank from it later in the week.
Sounds like you had a lucky escape Silaqui - Verified by Visa is rubbish as you can always say that you forgot the password and change it there and then. At lease you were online and got pop up message!0 -
Purple, I know what you mean about being able to change the password as I've done it myself a couple of times. So easily done, for something that is supposed to make things secure it's obviously backfired!
It's just lucky that they send out the confirmation email or I'd have been none the wiser. Transactions still haven't appeared in my internet banking that I (legitimately) made yesterday so I wouldn't have realised.
Also glad that the *******'s that tried it were so greedy - they tried to spend £500 which was a tenner more than what was available in my account so it was declined, a little bit less and they'd have been allowed it :mad:
I feel for you Jedi - something similar happened to my mum, her 'card' was used in Belgium but luckily the bank declined the transaction and rang her to check first.
I'm just hoping now that I've done everything that needs doing - the lady on the fraud line said all that needed doing was to destroy the card and they'd take care of it, somehow it doesn't seem like enough though!
On a brighter note, I have melting middle chocolate puddings in the oven and some extra thick cream to go with them - !!!!!!s can't keep me down :rotfl:
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -

If you will have no need of further credit from them, tell them you wish to keep your current rate and lose the card. Ironically, sometimes a company will keep the current rate and allow the card to remain active if you phone to complain and cancel.
Thanks Paul - OH is thinking about doing this. When I showed him the letter they sent he said "They can't do that! Martin Lewis said so!" :rotfl:Obviously another convert. We might need to keep the card open though as we don't have a good enough credit score to get another and we have had a few emergencies with the car that we couldn't have paid for without the cc.
Pad today is £5 - £1 between the two credit cards and £4 from Pinecone to my Flooring Fund.
Silaqui - that's a nightmare, I had the same problem with my Barclays account when someone got my details and bought flights! Still don't know where they got my account details from. I also had my paypal account hacked - luckily paypal caught it quite quickly as it was a suspicious transaction. :eek:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
OMG...
A scary thing happened to me today... I've just been sitting around sorting out all my old bills and statements and things, shredding them (you will see the irony in a sec).
An email pops up from Verified by Visa, thanking me for changing my password. "I haven't changed my password?" I think to myself, slightly alarmed. Try to log in to VbV, no luck and the account is locked so I ring them. Some swearword has somehow got hold of my details, outwitted VbV, run a test transaction for a £5er and then attempted to spend nearly £500 quid at an online electrical store :eek::eek:
Luckily I didn't have that much in the account and the transaction was declined, but it's shaken me up a bit. I spoke to the fraud people at A&L and they've cancelled the card and everything so I should get the £5 back - but now I'm worried as to where they could have got it from?  The people at A&L told me all I needed to do was cut the card up and it would all be taken care of - I'm currently looking through this site but if anyone has any advice it would be gratefully received.
It's horrible I feel like I've been violated!
xx
What a bloomin' nightmare! As you say, it is lucky they were so greedy. They keep reporting on the radio that online fraud is on the up. Have you done a virus check on your computer just to be on the safe side? One step at a time0 -
Evening everyone:j
Popping in to say another PAD of £100 to my Evil Egg please Purple. I was just going to do a tenner PAD - then thought, what the heck!! It's a big enough balance IYSWIM that it will take quite a few 100s to see the back of it:mad:
Bit bored today, foul weather & quite cold too - still no heating on yet but DH put his thermals on today. Am staying in, using up the food stocks so not going food shopping which should also save money - but when I get bored, I cruise eBay & buy from there!
