  • Hello and welcome!

The joy of PAD is that there is no "right" way to do it :D

Some people pay change into a pot and pay it off a debt monthly (I would use this change to buy cake/milk/something so this doesn't work for me!)

I have my debts set up on online banking for the most part so when I say "£1 to Barclaycard" I have sent that money to that card.

It's up to you how you do it, the only rules we really have is that when you post your amount you do it in bold/colour so it's easier for the counter-upper to add up!

Thanks for the help, but just one more question:

I have my dd set up to pay minimum payments so that if all else fails those are still paid. If I make additional small payments before the due date of dd, are they affected e.g. will they not take them and then charge me for not meeting minimum payment, will they deduct what they have received from the minimum payment and take less or will they just ignore additional payment and take as usual?

Sorry to be a pain but don't want to incurr additional charges

Hope everyone has a wonderful day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If it's the dress that you HAVE TO HAVE then why are you waiting til the weekend?? Get down to the shop get it!! :D

*NOT THAT I'M TRYING TO BE A BAD INFLUENCE*

I have a feeling that the dress will only come with a red trim, but I don't want that... I want it to be purple. I'm only going to buy it if it has straps though, as I'm a little top heavy and don't want to have to keep pulling it up.

Hmmm. May drag mum out shopping at the weekend.

  • Hi all,
I managed to find another £200 so made another overpayment to my loan. My target of paying off my loan by December is looking very likely!!

  • Paddy and Mick worked together in the factory and were both laid off.

At the unemployment office, Paddy was asked his occupation...'panty
stitcher....I stitch the elastic in ladies panties" he replied.

Being unskilled labour, Paddy was given 100 euros a week.

When asked his occupation, Mick replied 'diesel fitter', and since this
was skilled work, he was given 200 euros a week.

When Paddy found out Mick was getting 100 euros a week more than him he
was furious. He stormed back into the unemployment

office and demanded to know why his mate was getting more.

The clerk explained that panty stitching is unskilled work, whereas
    diesel fitting was skilled work.

'What focking skill???' yelled Paddy....'I sew the focking elastic on
the panties. Mick puts them over his head and says 'yep, diesel fitter'

  • Hi,

I have been a member for quite a while, mostly reading, sometimes joining in when a wave of motivation grabs me.

I have got myself into a little bit debt, nothing that major, but enough to shock me into thinking that this is not good and I don't want to go down the road of worrying about stupid mistakes again.

This Payment A Day malarkey looks tremendous! Proving that doing a little often can make a massive difference. So I think this might be the one for me to get me doing stuff instead of looking and thinking about doing stuff!!

So, today I will start. Monday is a good day for starting I reckon! I have to pay my Barclaycard today and I am now going to check online banking to make sure my pay has actually gone into my account.

Hopefully my next post will say how much I have paid and there's today's sorted eh? Then I can choose what to do tomorrow!

    Cheers everyone!

    Hi learn2cope

If you have dd's set up for the minimum amounts the cc company's won't charge you. I have a cap1 card and all the pad's i pay to them are taken off total owing for that month but I still pay more than the minimum. My egg card on the other hand still takes the minimum amount regardless how many extra payments I've made that month HTH

Thank you for clearing that up. I'm going to sort out my online banking in the next few days so that I can start 1st October :j
