Too much fun at weekend, but not very productive. Also, have now landed at the new week feeling bit jaded and bloated. Urgh! Soooo, plan is to spur myself into action today:
- Put meal plan together - done!
- Go ALDI for food shop – sticking to list! did shopping but didn't manage to stick to list
- Drink 8 x glasses of water
- Update signature - done!
- Apply for jobs (very important!) - done!
- Set up monthly payments from joint account to individual accounts - done!
- Clean bathroom - done!
- Make new batch of lentils for freezer - done!
- Make batch of soup for freezer
- Take pooch for walk
My hubby has managed to find my lost Pregnacare, so feel like I’m now officially on my way to baby planning… J, hurrah! My new sig now reflects new plan of getting debt free by October 2010 – when I go on maternity leave. This is working on the basis that we take about 4 months to conceive. Would be easier if we could plan with this level of certainty, hey! According to a book I’ve read, it takes on average a year to conceive… so, could be much longer, but we fell pg very quickly last time, so I’m hoping it’ll be same again.Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. Plan for today:
- Have a NSD
- Make batch of pizza dough
- Take out naan dough and lamb chops from freezer for dinner tomorrow
- Vacuum house
- Start doing something about the washing pile mountain!
- Drink 8 x glasses water
- Go for 5k run or long walk
- Ring up LoveFilm to get access details as keep getting boring filmsTwenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.-- Mark Twain0 -
I've managed to do most of the things on my list -pleased to get my long awaited NSD in ages! Oh, how cheap these thrills are these days!!
Next will be walking the dog and making the pizza dough, which I'll do after my MSE daily fix.
Anyway, back on to the topic of booze. Well, I have avoided the subject for a while (despite doing AF challenge - which I failed) but I think this is something that I need to address really. Not that I'm drinking excessively throughout the week, but when I have been drinking at the weekend, it's been far too much. I am very embarassed to admit - even here - that I was literally ill twice over the weekend. Thankfully not in full public, but.... how shameful. At my age, I really shouldn't be doing this - it's very bad. Both OH and I are the same. I should cut back if I am TTC in any case...
Anyhow, I'm talking about this in my diary to try and be honest with myself about this. And, that was this is about for me...

We don't do "failed" on our thread - sometimes we're doing well & some days not so well, as my sig so aptly demonstrates @ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Hey Honeybear... yes, I think that might be an idea... maybe for November, if I'm feeling brave enough. Hols in November so may not be good month. Ridiciously excited to tot up my debts! These are now as follows:
Debts @22nd October
A&L 5939
Tesco loan 6845
HSBC 3113
Virgin 564
Overdraft 14
Student loan 284
Santander 5186
Total 21945 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
So, against this time last month, have paid off a massive £4294. A huge chunk of this (about £2.1k) has been paid off the maternity leave savings and the holiday savings (which need to be replenished this month once paid). Still, I am chuffed to bits. Makes this all this seem worthwhile.
Next to go will be the Virgin credit card (interest bearing one - ugh!).
Onwards and upwards!
p.s. Can't quite believe the figures, so will need to check again tonight. Will be very embarassed if my totting up is wrong....Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines.
