  • Hi I am sure I saw somewhere that there is an initial questionnaire to complete for claims to fscs? I also thought there was a link to it on here but I can't seem to find it - can anyone help?
    Thanks :j

    Hi there

You would have to complete the questionnaire from the FSCS which is different to the one on this site from the FOS I believe, basically if the company are no longer running and they are listed with the FSCS they will require more details if I remember, so give them a call first.;)

    Hi and welcome

With Picture already being in default hopefully it will not take that long, some of us have made claims through the FSCS before the company we're dealing with was listed and then not in default had to wait a year and a half, but this should not be the case for you with them already in default.
Contact the FSCS every other week and ask for updates, good luck.;)

Anyone with updates?? They phoned me just over 2 weeks ago on my mobile wanting my new landline number and saying they had not kept a copy of my marriage cert despite having a note on file to say it had been received checked an returned... my caseworker said she would check with fscs about if they needed a copy or if they were happy to accept that deloittes had seen it and i haven't heard another word... thing is it was a broker sale but lender was welcome who have now been declared in default themselves and the hold up was trying to get figures from them so who knows whats happening now.. I keep threatening to call them but with the newborn I just seem to be either feeding or sleeping during daylight working hours..

  • Apologies if this has been queried before but I have searched through the forums and been unable to find a response to this specific situation.

An issue has arisen with a loan from Welcome Financial Services which was recently declared to be "in default" by the FSCS. The loan referred to was taken out in February 2005, with PPI having almost certainly been applied to the loan amount - proving how much is more difficult as no documentation associated with the loan is still held.

To cut a long story short, a notice has now been received from a collection agency requesting payment of an amount outstanding in relation to the Welcome Financial debt.

Is there any way of determining:
    a) whether PPI was definitely applied to the loan amount?
    b) how much total PPI applied to the loan amount?
    c) if documents can still be obtained from Welcome in respect of these loans?
    c) if it is possible to go about reclaiming this as mis-sold PPI - especially given it is now in the hands of a collection agency?

Any help much appreciated, especially in light of news on Welcome Financial now being in default and having received a collection notice for the outstanding amount.

Hi there and welcome to the forums (no pun intended lol).
I have not actually came across this actual matter before where the collections agency requesting the outstanding amount to the debt whilst the business have gone in default.

With mine though the loan was settled via another business that went into default, so maybe this is just standard procedure if the loan account is still active, but in my opinion they should not be asking for the full amount just like that.
    Sorry if I have misunderstood.

But anyway, if the ppi was mis sold then I would make a reclaim with the FSCS.
Was Welcome the lender or just the broker of your loan?
If you had a separate lender and Welcome were just the broker, the lender can supply any loan documentation to you.

Meanwhile though you could still ring the FSCS who may be able to explain the situation to you as well.
