Hi Lynnie, who is the company you have used for the claim, and have you contacted them regarding the cheque?
Did you sign any paperwork with them as that should tell you the % you will have to pay them.

  • Cheque has gone to Chatwins Solicitors. Originally told if under £5000 had to pay 5% of claim to them, if over this it would be claimed back from Picture, just don't know what will happen now as they can't claim the 5% from Picture!

that doesn't sound too bad if they only claim 5%. Not your worry about them claiming from picture, I wouldn't think

Can I just ask you Lynnie, was it originally through a company called 1st line by any chance?

  • I know it sounds bad, but claim has gone through so many hands I can't remember the name of the company that first got in touch. All I can remember is that they were a Welsh based firm, and said it would take about 3 months to get a payout.:rotfl::rotfl:

I just know that they have their own personal thread on this forum from their past clients. Its either them I think or Severn Marketing maybe. They both have this solicitor as their solicitors and I would just say to Lynnie to be very careful of any amounts they take from the claim. I would first make sure that you know the actual amount that is being paid out by the FSCS and don't let them make out that they have claimed any more for you than "just the usual PPI" that everyone on here has claimed. If they say they have claimed more than that then I would find this very hard to believe as these claims against Picture are ALL through the FSCS and the FSCS cannot make any more of a redress than that which is allowed in the FSA handbook. ;)

And your only bill to pay them was 5% then Lynnie?? That is "good" then as far as these reclaim companies go as mostly they charge a fee for looking through the documents and then another for if you win and mostly much more like 25% of the claim. I would say if all you are paying is 5% you got off lightly. Well done.
