Bodkin, found the post, this is how marshallka works out PPI part of repaymentmarshallka wrote: »To work out the PPI element of each repayments you take the PPI amount (without interest) and then divide it by the PPI and loan (without interest) and this gives you a percentage. Take this percentage of your repayment and this is the amount you pay each month towards the PPI.
Example
ppi 6262.45
divided by (25100 + 6262.45) 31362.45 = 19.97%
so 19.97 of the loan repayment of 327.80 went towards the PPI being £65.46.
If ******* had taken his/her loan to full 180 months then this PPI would have cost £11782.80dialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0 -

Marshallka, I have been reading throught the past posts where you worked out the interest element of out PPI. On the info I gave you I would say you were spot on
.We rcd £2072 in interest and you worked out we were payng £65.09. That over 29 months=£1887.61 the differerence being £185.28 which is the interest which we paid to the new lender. Their % rate is only 2.4% or thereabouts, so WELL DONE TO YOU and thank you:Axxdialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0 -
bodkin, the way marhallka has worked out the interest paid on the ppI seems to be about 19.97%, so for ease if you just say one fifth of your monthly payment is interest x number of payments made. It will give you some idea.
I'm sure if marshallka is about she will help you on this one. I'm am not very good at these calc !!

Hi Bodkins, if you can give the info of the loan etc i can try and work out your redress. I cannot do it til tomorrow though but will check back.Cheers guys this is cheaper than the pub for cheering myself up the origional cost of the PPP was £5 shy of £17 K scarey to think that this only covered my wife for the first 5 years of this loan.
I just feel really bad about all of this putting my family home at risk, I know I could have just defaulted and let them take the house but we have worked hard for it and I refuse to give them bar stewards even the drippings off the end of my nose I cannot believe how gullable I was anyways when 1 job finishes i shall pop home and be back at work at 7 to 12 tonight then back in at 7 to 3 tomorrow fortunately I have Sunday off to spend with my wife and son (hopefully he still remembers me as it's 2 weeks since I last spent a day with him) so positive thinking all round
(thanks busbyh for the heads up on this one;)) I would be glad to have a go.0 -

Hi there blakeney
I don't think you will be waiting that long, because they are already in default, I would contact them say in another fortnight, just for an update.
If your in hardship let them know before hand and ask them if they can deal with your case as a matter of priority.
Good luck with this and good one for getting your form off, hope you won't be waiting too long now.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"
