thanks for that, I just cannot understand why we received no actual rebate.
We remortgaged and paid off picture after 35 months and on the breakdown of the settlement figure states Ins rebate 0.00:confused: I thought it was of the time into the policy that we cancelled, but if yours had been running for 4 years, who knows.

Did you ever claim on the policy and if not did you receive your No Claims Bonus
No we never claimed but we never got a rebate either because we deffered 1 of our payments back into the loan they dont tell you that either that if you do this even with there agreement you dont qualify for your no claim discount

    pinknico, the initial loan was £35,000+PPI £8732 = £43732.00

This is how the settlement statement read.

    Current Balance £41346.76
    Settlement Interest 1860.38
    Accrued Interest 433.70
    Redemption fee 175.00
    Less Insurance Rebate 0.00

    Settlement Balance £43815.84

We had paid in excess of £11,000 in payments
Not sure if any rebate has been taken into account or not:confused:

Haven't we all learned so many lessons from this. We were just so glad we managed to remortgage, the amount we are saving is unbelievable!! and over less years also.

It wasn't easy getting our BS to do it, but I think we were lucky with the valuer that was sent. He asked why we were doing it and when we told him he was very sympathetic. I think he was very generous with the valuation which enabled us to do it.

I would try again if the property market picks up more and you just never know, you still may be able to do it and rid yourself of PICTURE for good

Blimey, that is not right is it?
If it shows Less Ins Rebate £0.00, then going by that there wasn't one given.

that's what I thought di, but it could be as pinknico has said, and it didn't show on the settlement statement as we had already cancelled - I really don't know how they have worked this.
I would think it should still show somewhere in the statement:confused::confused::confused:

    Confusing isn't it?

And yet the settlement shows the amount more than borrowed and the ppi together, even though there are also fees added in, redemption etc.
