I once asked for a settlement statement when we looked into remortgage and could not believe we owed 3000 more than the original loan and we had been paying £655 a month for 4 yrs i nearly died of shock

I know, it is enough to give anyone a heart attack.
This actually isn't my loan (although I feel it is):D I am just helping my daughter an OH out. She has been in no fit state to do it herself, just hope I see the day, with a great big smile on their faces when they get the cheque
:D:D:D and rid themselver of some debts!!!

  • my ppi is £14000 and i was not given any information about it really i wasnt told it only lasted 5 yrs and they never asked about pre existing conditions or previous ones and as i had cancer a few years ago and have to undergo very strict medicals for any sort of insurance i thought it was strange they never asked about it and they could not say they asked when they did not know about my cancer so hopefully this will help my case.

I honestly can't see how you can lose on this one, not at all. These are the reasons most of us are using.

As for your medical history, which I hope you are now well, i'm sure you will win on this alone. It must help your case.

It's a lot of cash, and it's not only the PPI, it's the interest also that you have paid . Nice amount to get back for you though, and as you say may help with your remorgage and get PICTURE out of your life.

    GOOD LUCK
    xx

If you look at some past posts some have given breakdown of what they have received and it will give you an idea of what to expect. Think they were only posted sometime last week

Do you have a policy number Old-Wulf

We haven't got a policy number, and until Friday we didn't even know who the policy was with. I was told that to cancel the policy, we have to put the cancellation in writing and send to Picture. As we are entitled to the NCB in less than 6 months and its 4 times the rebate, we will wait till the NCB becomes due and see what happens. We will not be cancelling. Incidentally the cancellation figure I was given by Picture was more than £200 more than on the FSCS statement!! They really do want us to cancel!

I take on board exactly what you say about people being given bad advise by Picture in respect of the so called claw back by the fscs of any NCB and will drop an email to them, I will hold back a little while first though for a couple of reasons, I don't want to potentially slow down any claim processing for you guys and secondly there is only Lian and myself that have experienced this. It may be a bit more effective if a few more successful claimants check with Picture to see if the bad advice continues. 10 complaints would be more effective than 2.

Hopefully other succesful claimants see this and dont cancel until they know the facts.

Good luck for some happy post in the morning
  • i have been back and read your letter very good i have somewhere a letter telling me of my rebate and that it has to be paid back to the loan if i can put my hands on it i will get my son to post it on here for me coz im not that good :D
