Really pleased for you Gumbi :j:j:j
I just rang the FSCS and have basically been told that they can't give me any further information on my case. It is with an assistant manager and I will hear when I hear. She wouldn't give me any further update.
She said that the fact my case was with the FOS bears absolutely no relevance and it all depends on the managers work load as to when it will get sorted. She also said that although Deloitte recommend whether we have our case upheld it is down to the FSCS to make a final decision.
She also reiterated that they have 6 months to finalise any claims and to keep that in mind regarding the timescale. So I'm still none the wiser either!
For goodness sake Chickpee this is getting ridiculous. But dont lose heart yet, I am calling tomorrow to say I was told on Monday a decision letter was being sent out this week and has this happened?
Remember the status on the computer doesnt change until this happens so something could still be going to be sent out this week.DS1 12/10/04

What I think is really unhelpful is that some people are being given further info such as your cheque will be in the next run etc whilst others get a very firm we can't give you an update. I said to her that if people are given at least a decision that it would take the awful anxiety and stress away but she said they couldn't do that but didn't really explain why.
I'll be interested to hear what they say to you Pinknico. I just get the impression that they think I am a right pain by reminding me how busy they are.0 -
Chickpee, I am so sorry to hear that, and I agree with Pinknico, do not lose heart here, and I think they are just telling everyone the same now.
As they are over-run and trying to get as many done as possible.
They probably didn't even look at the personal details as such, but telling everyone the same thing.
Hope you hear soon, and I'm sure you will.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I know they think I am a right pain, last time I rang he listed the other dates I had rung! But I dont care I want to know if I am getting back my PPI or not and I dont think they should add to the stress by being evasive.xDS1 12/10/04

I am also wondering as well, it depends who we talk to, with some they do not give anything away at all, then with others they will tell you a little more.
Is there any other contact that anyone knows of who may tell you more?
Its like with emails, we were told we were one of the priority cases with the company we are claiming with Twopart ltd, yet I don't think there are so many cases like there are with Picture, but still go through the same procedures, maybe different sections I do not know. Then some emails do not give an answer at all.
You have the right to know in my opinion anyway, this postal strike does not help, and surely they should realise that everyone are eager to know, its been a long time already.
Keep your chin up hun, and I'm sure it will be sooner that they have stated.:A;)XXxThe one and only "Dizzy Di"

Halpin when did you first complain to the FSCS and what reference number are you? Just roughly if you dont want to put it on open forum.
We first made a complaint against picture in June 2007... it was with the FOS for a year before picture went bust and then we got automatically passed on to the FSCS... we are ref 211...0 -
0k, who did you speak to at Deloitte?DS1 12/10/04

I've been speaking to a couple of different ladies. they told me to talk to the FSCS and they couldn't help either! Ho hum... this is becoming a life lesson in patience...0
