New to the board but is it me or does anyone else struggle to keep up with the 'appropriate' comments. Seems to be diluted by a lot of 'chat'?

    Hi Boredatwork,
On here is not normally this amount of chat on this thread, we have another non-discussion thread. It's just no news this weekend, we are just waiting and hoping for tomorrow and then we get down to the serious comments;);)

If you look on previous pages, you will see it all.:beer:

    EDIT

Also the chat makes for light relief, when someone has just won their claims and received their long awating cheques,:D we all like to celebrate with them, and await our cheques;);)

  • no, i work on the other side of the fence! I am just interested in seeing the consumers side of bad advice, to ensure that advice given by my staff is just fair and not any where near the shocking 'advice' some of you guys have received.

Sick of all being tarnished with the same brush! But i suppose as an industry we need a lot of rebuilding to get trust back, not dis similar to our beautiful politicians

That's correct, we have all been given really bad advice, and some as in dialysis's case, this advice has been a real threat to her home and her more importantley, her HEALTH, but thankfully this is all behind her now, and hopefully will behind the rest of us very soon.

I am sure if you have read our previous posts regarding the missell, you can well understand where we are all coming from.

There is one I know of on here who did actually lose their home through bad advice from an FA. It's not surprising people feel very BITTER .

You are also correct, there is one hell of a lot of rebuilding to be done!!! Although I am not saying they are all "tarred with the same brush" and as single premium policies are now, thankfully, banned, this will not be allowed to happen again!!!

Just to let you all know that I had an email this morning from the FSCS. I had stated that I was concerned there might be an issue with my claim when I emailed them last week.

    Here's the response

    Thank you for your email.

Although your claim is with an Assistant Manager for review, this does not mean that there is an issue with your claim, it is part of the normal claims process. It is unfortunate that you were told that you would hear from us in a week as this is not factually correct and I can only apologise for that.

Claims can take up to 6 months from the date of default to review, which in this case was on 8 July 2009. I am afraid that I cannot give you a timescale as to when you will hear from us again, however we will write to you again once we have completed your claim.

In the meantime, if you have any further queries please contact our helpline on 020 7892 7300.

So another standard reply but nice to know they are working Sunday's!!

Di, if they will not answer phone(don't think they will be allowed to take calls on overtime) they may respond to an email;) as this way they are not getting involved in a long drawn out discussion. as they would with a phone call
I know if I ever worked weekend overtime, we could not take calls, but I would respond to an email. Phones are quite often put on silent at weekends, in Gov depts.

They must be inundated if they are working SAT/SUN
