In our case they never spoke to OH - not once it was always me - OH is the 1st named borrower all OH did was sign loan papers and standard security.Good point marshallka, need to think everything through carefully with what we tell them.
Just hope we hear something soon;)
It's all been rather confusing this week, hasn't it ?
My son in law made the phone application, but they did ask to speak to my daughter just for confirmation as it was in joint names
Honey 2 x0 -
There was someone on the main thread that had the same happen in that it was her that made all the enquiries into the loan (as we do!!) and she had to then relay the info to her OH. He was the main one insured but never spoke to the firm selling the insurance so she was stuck in that it was actually so to speak advised BUT it was advised to her and not her OH so very tricky.Good point marshallka, need to think everything through carefully with what we tell them.

I only say this as these are complaints in that you received bad advice and not missold but if the person making the claim never received any advice then that could be classed as non advised.0 -
There was a pre-existing condition that my OH had been diagnosed before we met - I did not know aboutone of them - but had they spoken to OH then they would have been told of all the pre-existing conditions or if they had written to GP (as insurance companies do before you take out life cover) then this info would have been made known to the company. This is where there is another problem wih the selling of the loan when they only speak to one customer and not both!marshallka wrote: »There was someone on the main thread that had the same happen in that it was her that made all the enquiries into the loan (as we do!!) and she had to then relay the info to her OH. I also noticed that it says
"your circumstances are:"
you are employed for at least 16 hours per week - correct
you do not have insurance cover in place to ensure your loan payments would be met your death or your partners death, your inability to work due to accident/sickness or unemployment through no fault of your own - WRONG!!!
WE STATED OVER AND OVER AGAIN THAT MY PARTNER WAS COVERED FROM WORK FOR EVERYTHING DEATH, SICKNESS, UNEMPLOYMENT EVERYTHING
ahhhhhhhhhhhh PICTURE make me furious!!!!!!
You are so right Al,
This is my daughter's claim and she was 31 and her husband 32, she worked for nhs so was paid. He was paid from work. They both obviously had death in service cover and also their own life policy and redundancy/sickeness. etc.
So where was their demands and needs done on this one.
Also if you look at Section 6 of the policy headed
HOW LONG DOES PROTECION LAST.
It it misleading at the beginning of it. I have just taken about 20 minutes copying it out and when I submitted it I lost it,:mad::mad: was not very happy with myself.dialysis,mammamia,honey.beaniebabe,saltyfish,funky,Gumbi,Lian,doogle,oldwulf,pinknico,Halpin,alyson,Barloo,jadone,demir,netabc,chickpee,dannyboy,tomgaskel,Lozza001,sandzb,di,marshallka,pengi,lynnie,busbyh,moggy,Kim66,honestbob,tobione,itdonk,arrongborne,thunders,newtonchang,mbones,showergirl, coffeetower,hayston,sappy,dolallytap,AuntieDeedee0 -

yes you do have to be very careful
Yes it is always me who does all the phone calling etc. Mydaughter is just the opposite though.

If you are unsure, you could always send in any extra info to them, it will only help your case. It does say on the FSCS site, send any information in that you can to back up your claim.
And don't forget to keep copies of everything. I suggest if you send anything to them post it Special Delivery, it will cost about a £5 but it is gauranteed next day delivery and you can use the RMtrack and trace to make sure they have received it. It is well worth the fiver.
Good luck and you probably are just being paranoid.

When did you say you sent it in
I sent the claim form back in MAY 2009 which doesn't seem that long ago but this baby must be eating away at my brain cells! At the end of the day we were lead to believe that our loan would not be succesful without the PPI and that we were both covered eventhough we told them that my partner was already covered but of course I ended up not being covered and he was! And we wern't given a price with and without the cover!!!!!
Lets hope it works out for everyone - you could actually drive yourself mad going over and over it in your head Lol!!

Just been digging the FOS info out which shows how they look into PPI complaints, also as like many of you have also confirmed on here, where the FSCS highly possible does the same, some parts from my FOS findings here below: (sorry if its a long one, will not write absolutely everything though, or I will never get to bed) lol

I am not not satisfied that a policy that lasted for 5 years of a 25 year loan was a suitable product to sell Mr & Mrs XXXXX, especially as it was not made absolutely clear to them that they would be paying for it for over 25 years.
Nemo have suggested that Mr & Mrs XXXXX could have taken the policy (to obtain the preferential rebate on redemption of the previous borrowing) but then should have cancelled the policy within the first 30 days.
However, I have seen no evidence that Nemo advised Mr & Mrs XXXXX to do this, either in the telephone conversations or the subsequent communications.
It is clear that Mr & Mrs XXXXX "did not fully understand" the transaction or the implications of taking the Single Premium PPI policy and if is for that reason that I consider that the policy was mis-sold.The one and only "Dizzy Di"
