Companies in Default/FSCS Claims - Picture, London Scottish, Twopart

It was only cause the claims are being won for "bad advice" and not misselling so if no advice was actually given then could they say that they did not actually give any bad adviceYes Marshallka, they will try and get out of it through any loophole they can find.
. I know when Melorablack posted about this to someone she said that a policy cannot actually be missold if non advised as no advice is given in that sale. If your hubby did not actually receive any advice or never spoke to Picture at all how can they have put clearly that it was an advised sale
. They really do not know what they are doing. 0 -
When I last rang the FSCS on 24 Sept, I was told that our case was under management review and I should hear in about a week of the outcome. As we haven't heard anything, I rang them back this morning and apparently our case is still under review and no further details given as to when we might hear something from them.
Even though the FOS upheld our complaint it is really worrying that we don't know whether our claim with the FSCS will be successful. I have gone from being very optimistic about the outcome to wondering why it has been under management review for so long. So still a waiting game for us and I am starting to feel very impatient. It wouldn't be so bad if they let us know at least if we have a valid claim.
Hope everyone else has better news than me today. Good luck!!0 -
Last week I would have said if you won through FOS then you will definately win through the FSCS but apparently they are not compensating for misselling and they compensate for bad advice. I wonder if the hold up on some is advised/non advised sales? FOS cancel the policy and put people back into the position as if you never had the PPI but the FSCS don't cancel the policy (as its not missoldWhen I last rang the FSCS on 24 Sept, I was told that our case was under management review and I should hear in about a week of the outcome. I still think you will be OK if you won with FOS already. I personally cannot see how they treat claims so very different.0 -

Hi Chickpee hope you are well I am sure you will have a valid claim hun the FOS has upheld it afterall. I think it is appaulling that you were told about a week and now they dont know how long. you could try going down the lines of formal compalint surely they know by now the outcome. I am sorry you havent received positive news but it shouldnt be too much longer now.;)When I last rang the FSCS on 24 Sept, I was told that our case was under management review and I should hear in about a week of the outcome. Hi All,
I have just managed to get a copy of the policy document, it appears that the hospitalisation aspect is the same as accidental death benefit. i.e secondary to the life cover or 'critical illness'
It states that if unable to work the loan will be paid in normal situations, however for hospitalisation it will make payments (I assume this is due to the pension age and people not working yet can still have a loan?)
I hope this helps0 -
Hi chickpee, I am in the same situation, first I was told 2 weeks which would have been Friday and then told two more weeks on top of that.
I was worried about under review but I believe that Deloitte would have spotted anything untoward and that they have just been told to stop giving out ant timescales to stop any further complaints.
There have been people turned down but I believe these were early on in the investigation.
The FSCS are probably in a panic this morning as they sent Honey 2 two cheques!!
Boredatwork, you still have to be 65 to qualify for both of those! Thank you.DS1 12/10/04
