Our PPI certificate was a piece of paper with a breakdown of what debts we were paying off.
I think it had the words " This is also your insurance certificate" or something but no policy number.

I dont even know if I had insurance, maybe they just took the money and ran!

with any type of Insurance I have bought, be it car, house etc, I have always received a policy booklet which states Document of Insurance.
Dont know but this was just an A4 sized booklet with the details of the PPI and the no claims bonus thingy not a documant of insurance

With our insurance with FP we never received ANYTHING with regards to the insurance. We actually state it in a phone call in 2003 and they tell me that I should have been given the stuff when we took the loan out by the broker. We were not though and this was well before the misselling came about. The phone call is actually blanked in the tape they sent but its transcriped about me moaning when we settled that we had nothing whatsoever with regards to the insurance.

We got a booklet as well , I had to stop reading it the other day as I was getting angry at how many aspects we wouldnt have been covered on.

Did anyone else get a welcome to your loan letter and in the last paragraph, this counts as your insurance certificate?

Just checked out so called Insurance Policy, it states:

All you need to know about Picture Payment Protector.

    Then underneath this it says

This Brochure contains important information about your Insurance Policy,
    Please read carefully.

It does not state THIS IS YOUR POLICY DOCUMENT , and there is no policy number at all. When have you ever had an Insurance Policy without a POLICY NUMBER:confused:

Thats right and I made a complaint at the so called ICO and he said "FP would not want to incriminate themselves would they??". Some help they were.

I thought about this and the actual Policy. When we have household insurance, car insurance any insurance, (even my washer ins) there is a policy number and something else I have always wondered......if someone settles the loan early just before the 5 year cashback as FP had with their policies then do FP claim the cashback after or cancel it???? I bet they claim it for themselves. You have no policy to check this out. I bet they get paid twice cause they penalise you when you settle by making you pay for the policy and then I bet they have the 5 year cashback by not cancelling it when you settle....
